what will the lighter dye do

The thing is, make sure you cover the outer layer of you har first, so even if the dye didn't penetrate the inner layer, it doesn't really matter. Light dye will, of course, dye the lighter part.

If it is dark now (darker than the color you are speaking of as being lighter :) then you could end up with an odd color that is patchy as well.

Also, you have to watch which dye you are using...some with ammonia are harsh and dying twice in succession is a dicy thing to do...your scalp could suffer (be quite sore) and your hair could end up being a bit on the fried side (dried out).

Best to head to a salon for a pro job...worth the $40 or $50 you'll spend to have it done so that it blends well...professionally you can have two or three colors done to give pretty decent hi and low lights...much better than trying to do it yourself especially if you have long hair (shoulder length or longer)...these usually require two packages of dye...so if you are using a decent brand and paying a good price your almost up to the amount you'd pay to do it yourself anyway, especially if you've already spent money on dye to begin with...best to just go the extra mile and let someone else do it for you.

Good luck

You could end up still with spots in the hair. As the dye will probably end up a different color where the hair is a different color. I would suggest either using a product to remove the dye from the first job (that spotted it) or go to a professional to get it done right.

I think you should wait a few days, then recolor using the color that you already used, not a diffenent color. Have someone help you put the color on to make sure it is even and follow the directions. You do not need to remove the color. Good luck

Go to a professional. Then you would have someone to sue when it all falls out.
