Oh man, I have been there too many times---only in my situations, it has been a girl that I liked, and I found out she had a boyfriend (or even better, a husband).
All I can say is, just keep your eye on him. If you want to be bold and come out and ask him like some of the others have suggested, then that would be fine. But if you don't feel comfortable being that outspoken, you could just strike up some friendly conversation with him the next time you see him. If he has a girlfriend, he's bound to mention her. If he doesn't mention anything about one, you could ask a question like "What did you do this past weekend?" or "What do you do for fun?" If he has a girlfriend, he will surely mention her while answering either of those questions. I would think so.
Good luck.

Isn't it better that you found out, how did you find out, the only way to know for sure is to ask if he is seeing anyone.
If he does have a girlfriend, just be nice to him and look elsewhere what do you think you are supposed to do, you sound young to me, so make sure you follow that rule, you don't want to be the reason for any break up. Make sure you never play the second fiddle, you deserve better than that, no one should have to be that but it happens too often when the other person just had a break up.
As soon as they start talking about their ex and that they are still confused, this is your first clue to cool it and offer an ear but don't get involved.

Wait around until you find out for sure and then if he doesn't- start flirting with him it wouldn't hurt to be his friend anyway and then that could always change into boyfriend and girlfriend!

gather some facts, or more facts to prove and see for yourself if he already has a girlfriend
after finding that out, that would be the end of it, if he likes another you cant possibly do a thing to change that, move on

Ask him. Couldn't go any more right if you tried. Just ask him. Not 'accuse' him btw, but just asking him casually will help you figure out what's going on.
