I really like him both mentally and physically, but I think he has herpes as he told me his ex had it.

I seriously don't want an STD, as I'm stilll a virgin. but I really like this guy...so how can I keep it a friendship?

well, just b/c his ex had it doesn't mean he does for one. it is possible to sleep w/ someone and not get it. see where the relationship goes...if you fall for him, then you will love him no matter what he has. besides that's what they make condoms for!

How old are you? You want to be taking pills for herpes for the REST OF YOUR LIFE? These pills all have side effects and can cause complications later in life.
Hon, don't entertain the thought of sex with this guy if you want to be friends with him. Nothing is wrong with being friends but for you happiness, and freedom just block out, vanish any thought of sex with this guy there are many more herpesless and i'm sure cuter guys out there.

Herpes is only contagious when he has blisters on his penis. If there are none then there isnt a problem. But either way you should be using a condom if you are intending on having sex with anyone because of all the other STD's that are around.

Who cares? If you just want to be friends with him, then it is fine, and if you REALLY want a relationship, find out absolutely whether he has herpes or not, and if so, consider how badly you want the relationship. After that, it would be up to you.
