The story about the weapons of mass destruction was said to be wrong even before the war. UN inspectors could not find any evidence that the Iraq government still had such a weapons program. Of course it was the UN, so the Republicans could not possibly believe them. They hate the UN because the UN is a vessel of world opinion which does not always support the USA and even less often Republican policies.

American, British and other troops have been in Iraq for over three years. Where are the weapons of mass destruction? Where? WHERE?

Was the story really a lie cooked up by some people to justify an invasion? Is it not true that people like Perle, Rumsfeld and Wolfowhatsisname had been itching to attack Iraq for years before 2003?

The story about the Iraq government supporting ObL and Al Q was at least, unlikely. The Iraq government were secular Sunnis. Al Q are radical Shiites. That's like Southern Baptists supporting Roman Catholics. Al Q had a base in Northern Iraq near the Kurdish area. The USA and the UN had declared it a no-fly zone for the Iraq air force, so the Iraq government could not attack the Kurds. Al Q was well aware of that and knew that a base could not be attacked by the Iraq air force because of the no-fly zone. So they put it there.

There is some evidence of some people in the Iraq government having contacts with people who were involved with Al Q. It would be surprising if that were not true. I know a woman who shook hands with the Dalai Lama. Does that make her a Buddhist? Does it make me a Buddhist? There has been no evidence made public that large sums of money were channeled from the S, Hussein regime to Al Q. So that was probably a lie as well.

If you imagine that all the people doing the bombing and shooting back at American and other troops are terrorists then you have a pretty funny idea about terrorists. Some of them want the American and other troops out of their country. How would you feel if the Chinese invaded your country? How? HOW?

Most of the rest of it is an internal struggle between Shiites and Sunnis for control of Iraq and the American and other troops are just in the way.

Saddam Hussein is no loss to the world but was he really any worse than the knuckle-dragging military thug Pinochet installed in Chile by the CIA thirty-some years ago?

Or what about the sadistic bunch of military murderers who controlled Argentina right up until they lost the skirmish over the Falkland Islands with Margaret Thatcher? Thousands of people disappeared during their rule. Some got taken away and killed because they were disobedient enough to ask where their sons, daughters, husbands and wives had gone. Nobody in US government circles worried about them Oh, that's right, the Argentine military were anti-communist, weren't they, and all the people who got killed by their own government must have been communists. Yeah, right.

I'm an Australian. Australian troops were in Iraq from the first moments of the invasion, possibly even before. They were sent by our Prime Minister, The (dis)Honorable John Winston Howard. One thing I realised about Howard a long time ago. He would lie about the time of day just to keep in practice.

How you can be a Christian and support the war in Iraq is beyond me.

The terrorists believe in God and they support the Iraqi war, that's why they keep bombing innocent Iraqi citizens. So, it's perfectly OK for you not to support them. But, PLEASE support our children who are there manning checkpoints and defusing improvised explosive devices that the terrorists (insurgents, if you're in the media) leave in front of schools and hospitals.

God would prefer us to all believe in him and live in peace. But, we're also supposed to help the oppressed. Does that mean taking out the oppressor? I understand there are similar scriptures (and questions) in the Qaran. Is that why others attack us, our embassies, Russian schools and theaters, Spanish and English commuter trains and chop off the heads of prisoners, all in the name of God?

Well, at least they don't torture their prisoners with dog collars. (sorry, bad joke.)

I'm guessing God is not real pleased with any of our leaders, but there are Iraqi people who have high hopes for their future right now. Go to their embassy websites instead of the New York Times or George Soros funded sites. Get ALL the facts, not just the campaign slogans. The war began before we got involved and it will continue whether our troops are there or not. "Peace" cannot be defined simply by the absence of American troops if people are still dying!

But, by all means, pray for peace.

I believe in God and do not support the war,(I do respect the men that are serving the country) but I never seen a real reason for America to be in this war...I am not a supporter of war but a lover of peace....but unfortunately we may never see that here on earth anyway.

Of course, I beleive in God and am completely against the Iraqi war. What does belief in God and adamant regection of the thousands of lost, innocent lives have to do with eachother?

Sure it's ok. And it's ok to believe in God and support the war as well (which is my position). Just think through it all and make the decision based on what YOU think, not on the opinions of others.

Yes you can God didnt tell Bush to fight no war in Iraq. Its him and the Greedy Rich Oil Barons that want this war to # 1 drive up the price of oil and #2 to create work for his cronies (nation building in Iraq) and when the war is finally ove to get a huge chunk of the existing oil still to be harvested from that country. We still gotta support our troops who are their but we dont have to support that freakin war and the quicker we bring them home the better. God knows when that's gonna be.

That is probably against national conservative policy. You better check with your local Republican elected official first before you dare claim such a thing. Next you'll be think that if you are against the Iraqi war then you are somehow instantly anti-American.

Yes, If you believe there is a god. The war will continue anyway. With or without you. There is good money to be made out of it. Bomb, bullets, coffins. The potential for money is endless.
