I know this has nothing to do with religion but it seems to be where most people are. My crazy (seriously demented not even joking) grandma said that if you put too many people in a building it would collapse. I dont think so and she wants me to prove her wrong. I mean logically, not where you sequeezing people inside but standing or sitting. NOT a house.

Absolutely. But generally they are designed to carry a load equal to an average size person standing in every square foot of the house. You could collapse a house by hosting a convention of bodybuilders on your second floor, and packing them in as tightly as possible. Its possible, but usually they are designed for more than what would be a reasonably expected loading, so its very improbable unless there is a flaw in the design or constuction.

Yes, it is possible. If you exceed the weight capacity, it is quite possible for a building to collapse. But any modern construction will be designed so that it can easily support the weight of as many people as could fit in it. Older buildings are what you need to be careful of. And homemade structures that may not be up to code.

Most countries have building codes that demand the structure of the building support a max capacity limit. Under normal circumstances, a buildings structural plans must be approved by a board of supervisors who assure that the plan covers a max cap far above the number of people who might ever possibly be in the building.

I doubt it, but I imagine that a poorly constructed building that was old and had termite damage or something might collapse if someone held an over-eater's anonymous meeting inside.

depends on the weight of the people, & the structure of the building e.g. if it was made of wood which is now rotting then yes, probably if it was made of concrete or metal probably not unless water or vibrations from cars, the sun or the earth's movement created a crack in the wall which was big enough 2 pose a problem

Most commercial buildings have an occupancy limit.

The purpose is to prevent overloading and collapse.

What has this got to do with Religion & Spirituality

I wouldn't think that it could collapse a whole building. Maybe the floor would cave.
