If things continue as they are now I see more resentment. If things can get better, possibly a better future.
If the gov. will step up to the plate and do what's right then people won't be so mad. As for Mexico they will probably have resentment if we did start enforcing our laws, securing our border. I saw on an earlier post where Mexico has said they don't want us to build the wall. they will feel resentment towards us if we build the wall. But do I care no, Mexico needs to learn how to take care of her own and not expect us to do it for them.

I believe we will see a great sense of relief on the side of the United States. What has happened to our schools, prisons, social services, and the effect on our communities has been a travesty. It has been a long time of emotional upheaval for those whose lives have been impacted by illegals.

For Mexico...I'm sure it will be a great anger...they have had it all for so long. Not only our foreign aid, but the illegals who have earned money and wired it back to Mexico. As the cash flow begins to dwindle, we will see some serious temper tantrums 'south of the border'.

Growing, Mexicans will be jealous of our success and we will be more jaded by people sneaking over just to send money back to Mexico and having our wages eroded.

However in the long term I do hope our relations get better. Mexico needs a vibrant economy and hopefully it will get one. The social elite down there needs to re-evaluate how that country is going and start a wage increase to the common worker down there. When prosperity is shared then our tensions will decrease, but it will take a while for that to happen due to institutional beliefs.

The resentment is already there. A better future can be had, but there will have to be some changes and Mexico will have to deal with them.

I believe the relationship between the two nations will be the same for many years. So the US build a fence, that's not going to stop people from trying to cross. If US really want to keep people out, they would build a concrete wall instead of a fence and put guard posts all along the border.

If the fence goes up and is manned properly etc, the mexicans will be unhappy and hate us, mmm ok they already do that, but on the other hand it will stop the herds of illegals migrating to graze on welfare here. So all and all, it'd be a lot better future for us especially at tax time.

I hope for a better future. I can not stand the gamers right now. I appreciate an honest method of dealing with opposition when it exists. I like your post, it is an honest approach.

It would be interesting to see the outcome. I really don't think Mexico will be resentfull (Mexican people tend to be very peaceful) but it will still be interesting to find out what happens in the future.

It's always best to see a positive outcome.
They need to iron out the rules and allow Mexicans to either work and go home, or stay if they want to. Just make new rules and then follow them.

Yes, I don't see any way out of it. I don't see a better future until we can get the illegals out of here.
