You're a smart girl for asking. As much as I am against drinking, I cannot truthfully say that drinking is "extremely bad". But I can say that it's not good. If you can limit yourself to one or two drinks, you're in control. The trouble starts when you lose control. And every time you take a sip, you come closer to losing control. The simple truth is that drinking leads you down the wrong path. I've been down that path, and, take my word for it, it's not pretty.

Drinking isn't extremely bad, unless you drink way too much. If you drink a lot (the amount depends on weight and other factors) then you might do something stupid, and might wake up with a hangover. If you drink a ton too much then you could get alcohol poisoning, which isn't fun, black out, and possibly die. So that would be extremely bad. I personally disagree with the age limit being 21, but that isn't what the question is about. If you don't drive, talk to cops, and don't drink too much then you should be fine. As far as messing up your head in life; no, it won't. I've been drinking (on occasion, but heavily when I do drink) since I was 17 and have straight "A's" in school, and several of my friends who are doing well also drink, so drinking a little isn't going to kill you. To be fair, I will say that the MADD organization, which though stated at it's creation that it is against drunk driving only, spends more on stopping underage drinking these days, says that your brain isn't fully formed until age 21, so drinking could inhibit it's growth. I haven't seen their evidence, and they might not have any, but I would think only heavy drinking would inhibit the growth regardless and don't tend to take anything a special interest group says as 100% truth due to almost all of these claims I've ever researched being either a complete lie or based on bad research.
If you don't feel like reading all of that it can be simplified into a simple no, it isn't bad in moderation.

No drinking is not bad in moderation. Just a bit of advice though make sure that you have a buddy with you at all times when
you go to parties at a collage campus and if ether of you are behaving differently than usual make sure you and she don't leave with anyone you don't know. especially if ether one of you are feeling like you drank too much even if you only had one drink. The reason for this precaution is the fact that date rape drugs do exist. Other than that HAVE FUN

come on now, drinking doesn't do any permanent damage. all its going to do is make you relaxed and have a lot of fun. you will know when to stop drinking. you will probably get drunk off of almost nothing anyways since your alcohol tolerance is none.
drink, be safe, use your head and live a little. life is short, enjoy it by trying new things on the wild side!

You're not missing out on much. Most college kids who drink alcohol are binge drinkers, and do it to excess on weekends, to a point they pass out and have memory loss. You can have a good time at college w/o those kind of parties, I assure you. Actually, it's kinda fun to go to those and stay sober... you see what idiots they all become, what lines drunk guys use, what lines drunk girls fall for... it's quite educational. Just keep a diet coke in one hand and you other hand in your pocket.

Drinking is fun. But pace yourself, you're young. Don't go overboard at the party. Drink beer instead of liquior, it will process slower. Sip slow, and only have 1 beer per hour.

A few won't hurt you but be careful of what you are drinking. Never put your drink down to give someone the opportunity to drop something into it. Just be careful and use your good judgement.

Enjoy as you attend, It was nothing so bad provided your are not over consuming. It would become bad if you addicted to it.
If you intend to get drunk during the party, ensuring you get someone "real" trusted person to look after you, or else you might regret on unexpected thing happen to you during your drunk period.
In the other point of view, it is good for you to find out your own limit. Limit when you will get drunk, it is particular useful when you graduated and join the working environment. Don't over cross your limit as unexpected things can be happen when you are "Blurrrr"....
