Going cold turkey won't work so try a nicotine patch. It should help reduce the craving so that way you won't be tempted to smoke again.

Well, I used the patch..it wasn't easy, but it wasn't too hard either. Each week that passes will get easier. You'll still want them, but not as bad and after 10 or 15 seconds the want will pass. AFter a couple of months and you feel you have it beat: word of advise: DON'T CHEAT!!! I thought I had it beat and couldnt imagine me with a smoke in my hand, so I figurered a few drags wouldn't hurt...forget it one leads to two, leads to three , etc., etc. Good luck

I went cold turkey and filled the emptiness with chewing gum. It has been a year and I haven't cheated..my son was my help to quit mostly, he said he didn't want me to die.
Cold turkey meaning, not weaning down each day but just throwin the pack out and not looking back.

replace every other cigarette with a nicotene gum or lozeenge, this cuts the number of cigarettes in half, then start increasing the intervals, step out of your house to smoke, do not smoke in the car, this reduces smoking further. do discuss this with your doctor, heart disease can be worsened by nicotene replacement, consider zyban or chantix, both by prescription, good luck

15 years ago, I woke up one morning, threw out my cigarettes, and haven't smoked since. It was all mental for me. I cut back on the drinking for awhile, which only increased the physical and mental desires for a smoke.

heres what i did, and it worked.
I smoke menthols so i bought non methols. I let them go stale.
I only allowed myself to smoke the stale non methols. (gross).
i in about 2 weeks weaned myself from the nicotine, as i smoked less and less, and smoking was so vile with stale not my type, i genuiely didnt want to smoke any longer.
