Happened on the highway, probably from a flying rock, not at all my fault.

No. Glass related damage is covered by your "comprehensive" coverage and depending on your state and your selected coverage, your deductible may or may not apply. In all states, if your windshield can be repaired there will be no deductible. With that company, a comprehensive claim does not currently effect your premiums.

I work for Progressive. They typically won't go up for a comp clalim. The cost to replace a windshield is usually about $200-$300 depending on the car.
I would call Safelite and get a quote over the phone. Depending on your deductible, you may not be better off reporting it.

A claim is a claim. If you switch insurance carriers, it still shows as a claim.

No. It's a comprehensive claim, and should have no effect unless you've made several claims for the same thing over a short period of time.

If you have windshield coverage it will be free unless you have a deductible.Call your insurance they will instruct you as what you can do

it might..depending on WHY you need a new window..if it was something from a semi or another vehicle it may not..but if it was something else..it may...
