Well, it depends on the situation. it may have just been excited or in the need for some attention. Try walking your dog more often then usual and see if that helps the problem at all. but remember, do not let the barking behavior go on. You need to tell your dog to lie down each time it barks. (they have a hard time barking when they lie down)

nothing of like a big deal if it growled and barked while showing teeth means u made it mad if it does that u should lock the dog in a room and call for help but not 911 maybe a neighboor just dont hurt the animal. anyway about the barking situation its nothing to like be cautios about if it growled just calm him (her) and everything will b just fine.

If I knew how long you've had your dog and how old the dog is, I could answer better. He's either wanting to play (our 5 year old dog does that) or he's going blind and thinks he's scaring away a stranger.

He's solved the irreducible paradox between quantum physics and Einstein's special theory of relativity, and was trying to share his solution with you before he forgot it.

Unfortunately, since you couldn't translate his attempt to communicate with you, his solution and resultant theorem has been irretrievably lost into the ether, rather than being saved for posterity and the good of mankind.

Don't feel guilty.

does he do it often? if he does, it could mean a million things like:
hello!
i missed you
i want to play
feed me
walk me
i need to go out
etc.

if he just barked at you something might be wrong.
he might:
want to go out
felt lonely
hungry/thirsty
etc.

or you could go check with the vet. maybe there is something wrong internally?

My dog barked at me too! And chased me, and bit me, and ran away from me then coming right back, and growled at me...

I think He loves you!
