Yes, as long as neither of you are married to someone else.

To date yes! To further the ralationship I would advice against it. Age isn't a factor when you merely date. Once the relationship reaches the potential for marriage it should be weighed very seriously.

Certain physical and biologiacl facts are just a part of life once a person (women) reaches 45 to 50. Menopause for one thing, vaginal dryness, wrinkles, the old gravity thing takes the breasts and fanny to a new location.

Celebrities and those that can afford a face lift, fanny tuck, breast job and so forth fall under the unbrella of those women pictured with Ashton Cusher and the like. The every day 40 year old may not be as attractive after 10 years.

So is it acceptable? By Hollywood standards and some that believe youth won't matter to a 31 year old man down the road? Sure it is acceptable.

Date him, enjoy his vigor and active life style. Don't plan on marrying the guy!

Technically yes, but I would think that it's not ideal. There are so many people out there, I would think you wouldn't have to stray so far away from someone closer in age, who is going to have much more in common with you. If there is a maturity level issue, or some other psychological issue, then that's another story. If there is a self esteem issue, that is a big reason for a woman to want a relationship where she will feel more confident.

If I were a 40 year old woman I would be wondering why a 31 year old guy is interested, for men, that is not very common. Most men prefer women their own age or younger, it is something that should raise a red flag.

If you proceed, take it SLOWLY.

Okay- I am pretty sure that you are looking for more than a YES or NO answere here so I am going to give you the best answere I can.

Is it acceptable? Well that depends on where you live and more of the circumstances. If you live in a large town no one will notice it and it will not be the topic of conversation. If you live in a smaller town or a remote part of town, then no it probably wouldnt be acceptable. You would always have people talking behind your backs either out of spite or out of envy. Depending on the people who surround you is what will determine the answere to your question.

Should people shut their mouths and not worry about you two? Absoultely!!! Without a doubt they should. Todays society depends on alot and I think it is morally wrong. As long as you are happy then nothing and no one in the world should matter. 9 years is not that big of deal. It isnt a 20-40 year differnece.

I cant give you a solid answere here hun. There isnt a way to give you an answere without more detailed information. The other people who have answered this with either a yes or no answere are just trying to get points. I am trying to give you a legitemant answere here.

Enjoy life and be happy. Who cares what the world thinks hun.

Women and men younger than them are coming together. The main reason: unavailability of good single men in their age bracket. So is it a good idea to date someone much younger?
Age has only a small correlation with maturity and experience. Plus, two people with very different background, experiences, and ages can fall in love. What really matters is if there is strong mental bond.
World where dating a younger man is becoming increasingly acceptable, the road is not always so easy for all women. Some women have a tough time facing the society when they date someone who is quite young but in your bracket the difference is not so big. Good luck.

What would be wrong with it? First off age is just a number and it generally should depend on how you act. I am 34 myself and act like I am 2. Secondly if you have enough in common age is not a barrier and on a 3rd note at 40 your sex drive would be comparable with the sex drive of a 31 year old guy so enjoy go for it and remember that things in this world tend to work themselves out as they should

Yes! I would also say it is perfectly acceptable for a 40-year old woman to date a 29-year old guy.

Yes. Its been allowed for men to date women 25 years their junior and it shouldn't be any different for older women to date younger men. The important thing is that people care about each other and have a healthy relationship.

Yes, it's acceptable. But what if it wasn't? Would you refuse to go out with an eligible guy you're attracted to simply because of what "others might think"?

Go for it, and forget what "society" dictates.
