If you want to overcome your fear of possible rejection by the guys you like, then you need to learn the art of double-talk or more commonly called 'flirting'.

When you tell a guy for the first time that you like him, then say it in playful half-serious kind of way that would allow you to deny it all and make a joke out of it if he happens to be uninterested in you.

Flirting with a guy and denying it all at the first sign of rejection from him will allow you to save face and avoid humiliation. And if you flirt with enough guys, then eventually you will find someone who will be good for you.

You are right to be afraid of humiliation. That's why you have to plan ahead and behave in ways that will allow you to back out of any unsuccessful romantic encounter without loosing your face.

I can't understand why you are so reluctant to talk to guys. They are just ordinary people with most of the problems you have. I would suggest that you speak to someone you're interested in and have observed that they treat others with kindness and respect. You could just start off with some easy stuff. If you know of a common interest you share that would help. If you know he's an authority on a particular subject or knows a sport or anything that you may be curious about, ask him. Gentle questions are good because it will put him at ease also. He should pick up the conversation and ask you something. Conversation takes two so he should do his share as well. If you feel its going nowhere just say thanks and go on with your life. Be happy!

make friends with guys that you don't feel too nervous around. Practice talking to ur crush by looking at a pic of him or something like that. It really isn't a big deal. He's a living breathing person, like the rest of us. Now, if it was Orlando Bloom, that would be another story..............

lol, jk!
