i need a topic for a speech in my english class...it has to be about something in our society that needs to be looked at more...like a problme in out society thats kinda controversial...anyone got any ideas other then like the normal stuff that everyone does like sex, drugs etc.???

Hunger! Why are we spending billions on bombing Iraq for no real reason while millions (yes...millions) of Americans are going hungry every day?
Why are people who play games for a living making millions while the people who teach our children can barely make ends meet?
Why is homosexuality the biggest threat to the American family when 50% of (straight) marriages end in divorce? Isn't divorce a bigger threat to families than the 2-10% of Americans who identify themselves as gay?

Global warming (very controversial, and interesting), freedom of speech *such as adding limitations, school uniforms, censorship, illegal immigration, try searching the web for 'controversial topics,' I've found lists before. Hope that helps. Good luck.

How about controversy itself. There are so many things labeled as controversial that sometimes aren't that big of a problem. I'm sorry that I can't name a few, but maybe you can find one. Good luck on your essay.
