No, it cannot take THAT little time. Some people will never listen to reason, no matter how convincing you are. If religions were ever proved to be wrong, you'd have to wait till all existing believers passed away for religions to collapse. Our minds are not always entirely rational.

Sorry bucko but that is when the Mayan calender runs out 2012. also any of their predictions . it does not mean the end of religion or the second coming of Jesus. you can take that to the bank.

'The higher knowledge' means 'dogma' or 'revealed'...which seem to be the realm of religion. Therefore, if 'higher knowledge is revealed', we'll still have religion.
