I think the scots should invade england. At the end of the day scots are welcome anywhere in the world but no-one wants the english. We should do the planet a favour and get rid of the scum.
P.S Not that I hold a grudge :)

Its just that im one of the majority that hates the english and everything they stand for.

She is your queen not ours.........keep her.

I grew up with this rather unpleasant anti-English attitude (I'm Scots-Irish), so when I moved to England, I was quite nervous that this hatred may have been mutual. I am very pleased to say that, during my time south of the border, I was welcomed with open arms and immediately absorbed into the community, and my nationality was definitely not an issue. I've found that this hostility towards the English is particularly prevalent in the lower classes (to which I belong) and especially the uneducated.

It seems strange that many Scots are still going on about the way the English treated us centuries ago, when, as Nicola H pointed out, it was a Scottish King (James VI of Scotland/ James I of Great Britain) who declared that Scoland belonged to Britain in the first place.

Scotland benefitted greatly as part of Great Britain, especially during the 'Golden Age' of the British Empire. We made a fortune out of foreign trade, especially slavery (our enslavement by England is a dreadful thing... Now lets show our solidarity with those Africans by selling them off for a hefty profit - and everyone's a winner!).

At present, I do think it's possible that Scotland could become independent: North Sea oil has brought in a lot of money in past years. However, as we all know, the oil is running out, and won't last forever. It is quite annoying that we pay the same taxes as people in the South-East of England, but certainly don't get comparable services (our roads, for example, are horrendous in comparison...). But this isn't anti-English, probably many people in the North or West of England, and in Wales, feel the same.

And to answer another one of your wonderfully insightful and adult questions, of course we could invade England - there may only be 5 million of us, compared to 50 million of them, but with our fabulous Scottish diet (let's be patriotic), we're all at least 10 times the size anyway, which, arithmetically, makes a fair fight.

James 1st the Scottish king made us the United the Kingdom! He could not wait to get his hands on all the English wealth and power and get out of his own nation! He never mentioned his foolish Mother in his lifetime! (Mary Queen of Scots who was thrown out of Scotland by her own people!) Where did this Scottish King choose to live when he had all that power? I wonder? Not flipping Scotland that's for sure!

You need to travel see the world. Stop being so tribal. I have lived all over the world and been welcomed with open arms.

Your tourist industry has just taken a dive as you spread your racism! You are hurting no one but yourself!

If Scotland was independent it would be no skin off my nose. You however would lose everything and by that I mean financial support. Where is all the money made? Its not in the Highlands is it? It would save the rest of the UK a fortune!

I suggest you travel to Ireland and see the poor tatty republic, see the terrible roads and conditions for yourself and then cross the boarder to the UKs Northern Ireland with its plush lamp lit streets and cats eyes and decent roads. Are you sure its what you want? Do you know what it will cost you? (I am of Irish/English roots)

I have only known Scots who live in England and they are the best of people! Your attitude is harming your own country not me or England!

Why do some people dislike bagpipes?

Because they lure people into aspects of a culture that are not very innocent.

Why are the Scottish so fond of the Art & Craft that made America great, namely Freemasonry, if they are not at one end of George W. Bush's umbilical chord?

Why did Robert the Bruce let in the Cult of the Excommunicated Monks? Why did they let in those staunch, chastizing Calvinists? If the Scottish really are models of thrift, industry, sobriety and responsibility, why do they have their share of alcoholics?

IF YOU ARE REALLY FROM SCOTLAND, COURTNEY, WHY WERE YOU UP ONE HOUR AGO WHEN THIS QUESTION WAS POSTED? WAS ONE HOUR AGO THREE O'CLOCK IN THE MORNING YOUR TIME? IN OTHER WORDS, IS IT TIME FOR GHOSTIES AND GHOOLIES AND THINGS TO BE GOING BUMP IN THE NIGHT?

Such intelligence from the country that invented deep fried Mars bars, haggis and enjoys the highest heart disease in Europe. You's better hurry up and exterminate all the English because, at this rate, there won't be enough of you left to do anything other than hold onto your kilt in a high wind.

You're right about the queen though.

That's three now. Reporting abuse...

These are not questions and I'm pretty sure it comes under epithets and slurs. How do you live your life with so much bile inside you? That's a question.

Awaiting the predictable thumbs down from more bitter Scots...
