The principle difference is the standard of evidence each accept. One accepts science, the other religion. After that, it's simply a matter of matching up evidence with explanation.

THE principal difference is God. In the main, evolution teaches that life arose by chance without any divine intervention. There is something called "theistic evolution" which says that God created all things by a process of evolution, so all theories of evolution are not necessarily atheistic. But there are almost as many different ideas on evolution as there are evolutionists, and the same could possibly be also said of creationists. Another big difference in the two basic "theories" is time; evolutionists claim it took millions, if not billions of years, while creationists believe it took a comparatively short time - like 6 twenty-four hour days, only a few thousand years ago. There are some creationists who believe a day with God is equivalent to a thousand (or more) of our years, but that is still a lot shorter than the geologic time of the evolutionary "scientists".

I don't necessarily believe every aspect of creationism (well the fundamentalist at least) but the biggest difference is that evolution believes that a certain species mutated into thousands of species however creationism believes that God created animals and there were some micro evolution in the species but it didn't completely change them into a different species all together.

ie
Evolution: lizard-->bird or monkey-->human
Creationism: red flower--> pink flower or small white bird--> medium Gery bird

One of the many things I don't agree with these crazy fundamental creationist is that the world was created in 6 days. The Genesis account doesn't it happened that quickly so I don't know where they get that info from. I personally think by the way it was described it took a LOOOOONG time to create everything in that account...you just have to read and meditated on what's being said and what's going on.

Evolution can't prove what says. Creationism proves, because the living beings reproduce themselves according their own species.

Evolution is base on what is called scientific fact. Creationism is based on religious dogma.
One is supported with solid matter. The other with faith.
