We are in the middle of a war on ideology. We fight socialism and communism daily. We have Americans who want to seize wealth and give it to the poor. We have millions who want nothing less than a handout. We have millions who refuse to admit that we are at war with terrorism.

Interesting question. Politically it seems like more and more people are getting more vocal and polarized. However, I think it would be quite a stretch to see people take up arms on the issue. I think the biggest reason for this is that there is no distinct geographic area for each side. Republican strongholds are in the rural areas and the deep south, while Democrats control the big cities like LA and NYC. It couldn't be simplified into a simple "North vs South" conflict.

Now I know I'm trying to be bias free here, but I'll express my own views to make one point. If the Republicans keep running the country the way they are, I feel in a decade many liberals may jump ship to the European Union. I'm not sure what kind of effect this would have, but the idea of a much larger Europe and a totally conservative US is pretty weird to think about.

No we will not. The current issues we are having and the poor decisions that have been made will show the public the ineffectiveness of the people voted into office and next time they will do a little research on who will be the best for the country and vote accordingly. The last eight years have been a lesson on why the people with money aren't the ones who know how to run the country best and I think some better politicians that will work for us and not the party will be elected and things will get better.

Yeah, it could happen! The problem is there are so many factions and agendas out there, who would be fighting who?
I can see the conservatives wanting to completely destroy the liberals. I can see the entire country exercising a bounty on illegals. I can see Christians eradicating the muslims, all the way back to Bangladesh or some such place.

I believe there is so much turmoil right now, it wouldn't take a huge bonfire to start a forest fire, just a small match.

Ironically, there seems to be a new appreciation between the blacks and whites in the US. Both factions have had it up to their armpits, with illegal immigrants, arrogant and hostile arabs, islamists crying about profiling, etc. The blacks and whites are looking at each other and saying, "hey, maybe youse guys ain't so bad after all!"

nah, it will never happen ..... what would it be? between govt parties? between black/whites? because of general unrest? There is a much more real threat of martial law, enforced either buy gung-ho paramilitary swat type idiots and the military itself supplemented by UN troops ... and if you think it will be a war ur kiding urself.... they will just disarm the population systematically and city by city, county by county ... and it will probably come in a time of great crisis like a punishing depression or a bad terror attack that disrupts the economy and theres no food in the stores and nothing moving ... but civil war? nahhhh its too late for the american people to effectively organize anything large like that ... our rights have been stripped and most people dont even know it....

I do not believe we will have
a civil war. What has made the
U.S. of A. so special above the
rest, is that we have 50 states,
all very unique, all with its good
and bad, and we continue to
believe in our country.
Not Europe, nor Asia, nor
any other masses of people
have attained what we have,
literally, The United States of America!

Nope, back in the real Civil War, things were a lot more violent. But if you're going to be such an intolerant, ignorant prick and call people "over patriotic", then go to hell, bean burrito.

No civil war. Too many are too braindead for both parties. Also, if you tried to start anything the feds would be all over you like flies on a you know what.

You never know, that's why I am stocked up on guns and ammo. Do you remember the Rodney King riots? That didn't take long and if you knew about all of the other incidents that went on at that time, we would have had a race war.

No I don't think the US will have a civil war anytime soon.
