as a hair stylist,i would say the best off the counter dandruff shampoo would be selsun blue or t-gel by neutrogena, my clients are very happy with it for both mild and severe dandruff.

You can use what ever tickles your fancy...the trick is to add about 10 drops of tea tree oil for an 8ish ounce bottle .
I used to have dry skin bad (partially fungal, partially dehydrated), and tea tree oil is awesome. Just make sure the tea tree bottle says "made in australia".
