If I run out of cat food I feed my cats chicken either boneless leftovers warmed a little and cut into small pieces or I cook a piece of boneless chicken breast on the stove top. I don't give them too much as they'll over eat and become ill. The chicken's pretty good for cats and since it's not canned you don't have to worry about sodium or mercury. Cats also go nuts for turkey but remember to never give them bones and not to give them a lot.

Have you tried cooking anything for her? You can find recipes online. Just print one out and keep in nearby so when you run out of her food, you can whip up a quick, yummy meal for her. Giving her too much tuna can actually disrupt her normal eating patterns also. The tuna has a very strong odor and taste, and when she gets used to that, nothing else is quite as pleasing.
BTW, know just what you mean about the cat food. What kind do you buy?

Tuna is not good for cats. It has no taurine in it which is an essential amino acid for cats. Also, fish tends to be high in ash, which can often lead to urinary tracts problems. "Disgusting normal cat food" is better for your kitty than plain tuna, especially if she has to go more than a day without her good food. The cat foods on the market, even the really cheap ones, at least have all of the essential vitamins and nutrients. It's like eating fried chicken every now and then. It's got the protein and stuff you get just from eating grilled or baked chicken, but it's got that extra bad-for-you stuff, too.

Give her whatever kind of cat food you can get yourself. Normal cat food as you call it will be better than tuna intended for humans.

Not sure, but a suggestion is hide soem of the food when you get it and tell dad you are out before you are out that way you can have your back up stash in case of emergencies. Also, think about buying more than one and that way you can plan ahead!

your cat will not allowed for this to happen, you're gonna have to go to store immediately. believe me your cat is going to terrorize you until he/her gets their favorite cat food in their bowl.
cats are very demanding animals. my cat always has to have dry food on his bowl, and in the morning can food and in the evenings another can of food. very demanding cat, he's the boss!
