i think so. it sounds like he's shy. sometimes talking in person is a lot harder than over e-mail or AIM or something like that. maybe invite him to the movies with a group of friends, then sit next to him.

Sometimes the direct approach is best, just ask. But if that seems too bold for your liking, look for the following signs. Pay attention to your conversations with the person in question.
1) Does this person show a special interest in having a conversation with you and, once started, make an effort to keep that conversation going?
2) Has this person taken a sudden interest in your life and hobbies? This is a sure sign that he or she is interested in something.
3) Other elements of body language include frequent eye contact, holding your gaze and looking down before looking away.
4) Does the person you're wondering about just plain smile at you a lot?
Just remember, take each moment like it will be the last. This I feel will be a good start for you in knowing. Good Luck!!!!!!!

I think that he likes you but is a little shy now that he knows how you feel. He may feel more comfortable talking to you when no one else is around. Sounds like this is an unfamiliar situation for him and he is a little eneasy about it.

it seems like he wants you to make the first move. he may like you, and he may be afraid that you dont like him, thats why he comes over to talk to your friends. email him... see if he emails you back. pay attention to the sorts of things that he says to you. (i.e. random questions that you probably wouldnt have an answer to, what are you doing...) that sort of thing.... maybe he just wants to be friends... starting out as friends may lead into a romantic relationship...

i'm sorry hon, it doesn't seem like he likes you because then he would be the one coming to talk to you without you having to spark a conversation with him. maybe he got the impression that you like him and is letting you down slowly.

did you ask him?
spend time alone with him,
and bring up the concept yourself.
