I know you guys think being gay is a sin but how come you guys dont make a big deal about murders, cheaters, theifs, adulterous people, murders... etc. all of them repenting and going to hell. I learned at my Catholic school that a sin is a sin and murder is the same as stealing. So why do you guys pay so much attention to them and not the other sinners? Why not pray the change than trash them?

It's like this. Our society sucks. We are all judges in what is supposed to be a judge-less society. You are right a sin is a sin. That's all murder IS the same as stealing in God's eyes. Look at the justice system. You will get put away in prison quite possibly for life if convicted but if you steal a stick of gum it's the same. A sin is a sin. Gay people are no exception. Everything is a choice in lifestyle. That is just theirs. People are scared and because of that fear of the unknown they make a huge deal of it. I know what's right. You know what's right. The rest will catch up. Just pray.

I would think the short answer is that people are led by the Holy Spirit and mistake their own sexual insecurities as thier spirit; resulting in what they believe is righteous anger. That's why we have the Bible so we can sort out our fallen minds from the will of the living GOD. You are correct. Sin is sin is sin. On this earth however some sins are more costly then others. homosexuality carries with it a lot of problems. I have never been gay but I am an Alcoholic and I bet my problems and risk were no greater or less then any homosexuals is.

homosexuality is getting to be a very open sin, and lifestyle, we cant just point out ppl that does the other things, most homosexuals don't think they are doing anything wrong and we are just telling them that they are going against the bible. most of the theifs and murderers and stuff knows they are doing something wrong and they aren't in the wide open for us to find them. i pray for every1 to change but i also know that every1 isn't going to heaven no matter how much i pray, but if i could help 1 person get saved then i would feel very good that i have done what God wanted me to do.

what?
the people making the "Big deal" are those that are unsettled by the idea that the Bible says that homosexuality is wrong.
How many times have people asked why murderers, adulterers or thieves are condemned by the Bible?
The people with the issue are homos who can not accept that Christianity is not going to accept their conduct.
Why don't people take up the argument that homosexuals are intolerant of Christians?
They refuse to recognize that the group called Christian has just as much right to take a stand against homosexual conduct as homosexuals have to take a stand against Christian standards.

Final point? Why do homos want to be a part of a group that does not accept their choice?
They must be stupid.
Why don't they start their own homo church where they can be accepted for who they have decided to be?

i think that is stereotypical. I am a christian and I believe that Homosexuality is just as much a sin as any other. We don't bash gays. But, we do pray for them. We just notice it because of how popular the homosexual life is. But, we also rebuke stealing, murdering, cheating, (etc.) It's just that you don't have to debate whether those are wrong. Everyone knows they are. Homosexuality, on the other hand, is a controversial subject."We hate the sin, but love the sinner."

Actually you only know what you see in the media and what you have been told. It's very rare that my Pastor even mentions homosexuals and when he did he taught about how we need to make them feel comfortable to come to our church so that they could hear the gospel message and receive power from the Holy Spirit to live a life that is pleasing to our Creator who made us male and female so that there would be husbands and wives to create families.

More often than not, when my Pastor is preaching about sin he is talking about lying and gossiping and being sinfully angry and committing fornication and cheating on taxes and causing division and strife in the church and failing to love our enemies because those are the most common sins. He doesn't preach about things like murder because not too many people are tempted to commit that particular sin.

If you really want to find out what true Christianity is all about then visit a Bible teaching, Christ honoring, Spirit led church like mine http://www.alcf.net or take about 20 minutes and listen to one of my Pastor's great sermons. He's a gifted teacher who puts it out plainly with a trademark humor that always leaves people informed and encouraged. http://www.oneplace.com/ministries/enduring_truth/archives.asp

Because I don't see people marching down a street with banners saying Adulterer Pride.

I only speak about homosexuality if anyone asks me, and then it's an answer from the bible. I don't think it's any worse than any sin. But it is in the news quite a lot, so it comes up often in these forums.

Actually I believe we do make a big deal about them. I know that the Christian church I attend, and all others I have attended have not endorsed murders, cheaters, thiefs, adulterous people, etc. We don't have to stage rallies or such on those matters since we have laws against such behavior from our governments.

The Catholic Church believes there is nothing sinful about being homosexual. But homosexuals like all unmarried people are called to celibacy.

The Church specifically says that homosexuals "must be accepted with respect, compassion, and sensitivity. Every sign of unjust discrimination in their regard should be avoided."

With love in Christ.
