Yes. Prednisone is a steroid and can cause excited, agitated behavior, as well as a huge increase in appetite. Try to give extra exercise, and be sure to give it in the morning. If she needs it 2 x's a day, give it as early as possible and then again in the afternoon. This might help for the night, My mastiff was on this for about 3 months- ran around like a lunatic, and she gained 10 pounds from eating EVERYTHING IN SIGHT!!!!!!!!!!!!! But-it really worked for her inflammation from her hip dysplasia.

Yes, it will causes are thirst, it will keep them up but it helps their allergies. How big a dog and what size pill. Be sure not to give for more than 3 days without weening them off for fear of side affects. Also if on it for more than a week be careful about how thin the skin can get and how fast the animal can heal.

I just looked up online the side effects in Prednisone. It says if you notice increased appetite, nervousness or restlessness, or indegestion to contact your Veterinarian. But here is the website and I hope it helps! :)

Prednizone can have many side effects including panting, increased thrist, and increased urination. If you are concerned or she seems to not feel well give your vet a call and see if she should be put on a different medication or have the dosage adjusted.

Absolutely. I had the same experience with my dog as well as excessive urination (usually in the house). The quality of a dogs life directs the method of treatment or the lack there of. Remember, dogs to not know death, they only know suffering.
