i'm ok when i wake up, go to school/work and think about what i'd like to accomplish. or when i go out with my friend, go to the movies, read a book & so on...but when i get home, in the afternoon and in the middle of the night (if i can't fall asleep) i feel really depressed. i so miss having someone in my life and it just doesn't happen. so how do i deal with being single and feel satisfied about being alone. (please don't write about going out and dating different people 'cause you can't force yourself into falling in love.) you can fool your mind but not your heart.

thanks.

I've been there, I went through a terrible breakup! Got cheated and lied to, etc. Lets just say it was my first heart break and the worst thing I ever gone through, I even moved to Maui! Being single is an interesting thing, it allows you the freedom to do (almost) anything you whenever you want! Life is for sure less complicated when single. Ok with that said, being in a relationship is great. That first month when you fall in love with somebody is simple the best time in any ones life! Everything is positive and happy with no worries... going places doing things, sharing memories. Really its what life is all about. I have been in your shoes, its not fun! It does pass...to truly meet the right person you have to be a complete and a whole person, that means being happy and not being depressed. Time for me has been the most helpful thing in letting old things go, other than that really developing my own life and interests has help put some distance between that life and this. Of course that is my story, I guess the best thing you can is trust yourself and your own choices... wish I knew more, Sean

I have exactly the same problem. Nights are lonely. And I haven't found a good solution. My friends tell me to get a pet, but I don't find it very appealing. A good solution isto have some very close friends to get emotional support. Teenagers are into these "no strings attached" sexual relationships, until they find their true love. I read in this new reserach article that lacking a healthy sex life is actually dangerous to your health. Those with a healthy sex life live much longer. Lacking close friends is also known to be a health hazard. So, let me kow if you find a good solution.

I'm in the same predicament. My girl left me 6 weeks ago and I've felt like that every day. It's like you get home and sit down.. then all the sudden everything starts to crash. I deal with it by working out a bit, listening to music, and trying to start conversations with people on MSN or AIM. I feel if i can pre-occupy myself then i'll think less of her and the other problems in my life. Unfortunately it seldom works, but you never know for yourself.

Keep answering Yahoo Questions. Sounds like you really do not mind being alone, because you do not try to go out.

What is your philosophy in life ? If Christian than a Christian singles group would be the ticket, or perhaps a singles meeting area in your community. Gee, just have fun !

You're going to meet someone to fall in love with, and when you least expect it.
