With less than 2% of the Oregon population being black, I am interested in finding out if the Beaverton area attracts this population more than others. If so, where about?

Although Beaverton is "diverse" it is certainly no more diverse (in my opinion) than similar cities in Oregon. Asians do make up about 10% of the Beaverton population, however. The black population isn't even 2% of the total population.

There is a part of Portland ("North Portland") that has a larger black population. It is just North of the Lloyd Center Mall.

I'm not sure if there is a black area within Beaverton. You might try contacting a black church in the area to ask. New Song Church in Portland is probably your best bet.

The majority of the black people in Oregon (over 80%) live in north and northeast portland. If you're looking for a diverse church New Beginnings would be your best bet, but it is very far from Beaverton. If you're looking for predominantly black churches there's lot's of those to choose from. A few of the most known in the area are Highland Church, Mount Olivet, and Emmanuel Temple.

If you are looking for black people, don't waste your time in Beaverton. If someone in Beaverton recalls having seen a (one) black person, at some time during the past year, he will consider that diverse.
Lower southeast Portland has the most diversity; ethnic and cultural.

Beaverton is a suberb of Portland. There are blacks in the community as well as everything else. There is a larger population in North Portland but there is a very diverse mix of people all around. If you are worried about prejudice, it is not bad at all. We are a pretty mellow community (the greater Portland area).

Beaverton, OR is a diverse area with alot of different ethnic groups. It is a large area and housing ranges from simple apartments to upscale apartments/condos and homes. It has grown tremendously into a nice suburban area with plenty of shopping and restaurants.

My guess is there probably isn't that many because Beaverton tends to be more expensive in housing (not being racist here I promise). But I'm sure there are some!

Not anymore. In the 1940's they were all kicked out and haven't come back in any large numbers. But there are some Jewish neighborhoods if you're looking for diversity.
