Definitely, yes. My oldest dog my son raised, he went away for a year and when he came back all he does is follow him all over the house. Dogs do not forget their true master. When my son goes outside the dog follows, and when my son goes outside to smoke the dog follows. So do not worry, as long as you treated him with love he will never forget you. Have fun with your dog when you get home.
I read some of the things here and believe me that he doesn't forget, the only thing is that if you have to go away again, he will be depressed, for quite a long time.

the truth is you dog will remember you but his trust for you will not be at the same level as before. you've been gone for a while and he remembers your scent and way of being. But, his family is now your family. It will be like your trying to enter his new pack. It might take a couple days for him/her to FULLY warm up to you. Just because the dog licks your face or palm doesn't mean he trusts you. It only means he'll/she'll tolerate you in theri area up until the moment you mess up. Don't expect all emotions you feel to be reflected by him/her. If they are, you're one of the lucky few. If not, than just take things a day at at time.

Yes. I was gone from my dog for 11 months and when i got home, I found out that they hadn't kept up with any of the training I had given him. He still remembered most of it and within a few weeks he was my old dog again. It only took a few weeks to get him back to obeying me only and ignoring everyone else... Don't forget, dogs know... they know who their owner is, they know who loves them and who hurts them. If someone hurts a dog, the dog will remember in 5 years, but if someone is nice, they dog will remember that too....

Yes, of course. He will miss you. That is why they are known as man's best friend. My brother was in the Navy and had to leave his dog with Mom and Dad, and he came back for leave maybe once or twice a year, and it was always a happy reunion.

He might. My paternal grandparents had a little cockapoo when my grandfather died. My grandmother was no longer driving, so the family sold the truck to a friend. Months later the friend came visiting driving that truck, and the dog's little ears perked up because she thought her man was coming home again. It about broke her little heart to not see him.

Yes, I think he will. My son went away to school and his dog knew him when he came home. At first, he might act a little weird, but he will soon get used to you. Actually, it was probably good for him to get used to your family as well. Now he has more than one person he can depend on.
