YES YOU CAN!!!!! You can certainly slow down your pace! Look around you, I mean really look close. Stop taking all that for granted. Enjoy life IT IS PRECIOUS. MY GOD SMILE MORE. The little things like sunshine, laughter, family & friends, sweet smells of home, rain, the crispness of everything after it rains, the birds, the clouds, Sunday dinner, little children playing, puppies, GOOD SLEEP & precious memories. Get away from the T.V. it's very depressing, why don't you go fishing or a slow walk and breathe it all in as deep as you can. Maybe with someone you love. I don't think we appreciate what we have and there are so many who don't have a fraction of we take for granted every day. so SLOW YOURSELF DOWN AND ENJOY EVERYTHING YOU HAVE. THANK GOD FOR IT & GIVE SOMETHING TO SOME LONE LESS FORTUNATE, THAT REALLY NEEDS IT!!! IT WILL HUMBLE YOU!!!!

I totally know how you feel, the weird thing is, is that I am only 18 years old. I have been through a lot and latley all I really seem to think about is everyday that goes by is another day we all get older and we will never get that back. I am seeing a psychologist because it is obvious that it is depression that makes it so hard for me to come to terms with eventually being old. Are you seeing anyone or talking to anyone. Chances are maybe you have too much time on your hands... That is my problem I have been isolated for a good peice of my life missing out on a lot of things and time really does slip by when you are not doing anything,(well it does either way) but you enjoy it when you are having fun. Maybe you should really consider talking to someone and finding some ways to get your mind off it because it does happen no matter what but it can be devistating actually thinking about the realization everyday. I know how you feel!

You are so right. It seems like just yesterday I was in High School and had a million friends. Then I had the girls they are 22 and 19. It seems like I just had them yesterday. I am now 46 and it seems like time just seems to go by faster and faster. I now Haw my first grandchild on the way and he will be here in November. My daughter and her boyfriend tell me that because I am Bipolar that I am unfit to take care of my grandson because of it even though I am on medication to control it and I am stable on my medications. It isn't my daughter that feels this way but her boyfriend and whatever he says goes even if it isn't right. I don't know what to do any more everyone except one person in my life pushes me away. That even includes my parents, sister and pretty much everyone else that doesn't give a crap about me, only that one special person in my life does care. Time does go by to fast I guess and seems to slip away faster and faster. Just remember to cherish each moment and try to keep yourself happy. Good Luck and God Bless you.

The apparent passage of time is relative. It is merely a matter of perspective.
When I was five years old, my birthday or the next Christmas seemed like ages away because I had such a short span of time to use as a comparison.
Now that I am old, gray, and wrinkled, I have a much longer span of time to use as a comparison. Each day goes by at the same apparent speed, but the years seem to have flown past.
Enjoy each new day as it comes. Life is meant to be enjoyed and not endured.
Something funny happened recently. I emailed my father-in-law and told him that I try to live each day as if it is going to be my last one, because sooner or later I am going to be right.
He was very worried that I was sick and about to leave this life.

Yes, it does seem that time goes by more quickly as we age. I think only way to slow it down would be to isolate and live a boring life. I would suggest that if you are feeling like you have less time as you age, that you start doing things you have always wanted to do. Try something new and different. Get involved with a cause and spend time with people you love. While you can't slow down, you'll enjoy your life more and when it's time to go, you'll have few to no regrets.

Shouldn't it be the opposite? Because the older you get, the less a day or year is in the percentage of time you have lived. Its like saying my daughter has been some way her whole life is not as big of a deal as saying it about my grandma.

if you are plagued by depressing thoughts, wasting some of the irreplaceable time left alive being miserable, then you should think about a simple mind controlling technique IE concentrative meditation. as little as 20 minutes per day will train you to see the endless thoughts that bubble up from your mind, and little by little you learn to allow these thoughts to pass without paying attention to them. think how much fun and productive life would be if you did not attach your feelings and emotions to these programmed negativities.

You are definitely not the only one to think that. I think that all the time. I think about how my body just isnt the same as it was 15 years ago, despite my workign out and eating pristinely.. I think about how as a woman, we "age" more than men our same age.. blah blah blah...
But then sometimes you realize that time doesnt go by fast, you're just not stopping and breathing the air and looking around sometimes.
Life sucks most of the time, but some of the time, it is amazing.
Cliche... but its how I feel and its true.
Good luck to you...:)

You mean I'm not really having to go to the bathroom every 15 minutes?
It might actually be every 30 minutes, but it just seems more often?
