I'm a bi Athiest woman and I recently made a blog entry about possible uteral illness. I received this comment from a stranger:
People suck sometimes. Everybody does at one point or another. I don't know what drew me to your blog, or why I feel compelled to comment. We wouldn't appear to have too much in common, as I am a male, heterosexual, Christian - but none of that matters. My heart breaks to see the pain that you are in, and to see how sad that makes you. I am not here saying that I will pray for you or anything of that nature, I am just one human being who feels compassion for another. I hope that you find some answers, to your medical issues, and to any of the other things that are troubling you. I see that you have a lot of friends here, don't hesitate to call on them, and just realize that there are a lot of good caring people in this world, though they may not always seem to be right under our noses. I wish you the best and hope that things start to get better for you.

Can't we all just be like this instead of condemning everyone else?

Because, Cam, he was the first of his kind I've encountered. I still have my political views and my frustrations about the unfairness of the laws right now, but that doesn't mean I can't see a good person, whatever the faith.

Again Cam, that was referring to my arguments for gay marriage which I deleted recently. I still refer to Bible Spammers as bible thumpers. Are you actually looking for something?

That is true Christianity, since you didn't ask about Christ, there's no need to try and blab cute Christian-catch phrases. We are supposed to let our heart be a witness to people who don't know Christ and then let them ask us about it. I'm glad one of us got it right finally. P.S., I am sorry about your woes, my sweetheart wife has a cervical infection and we are waiting to find out what it is.

S/he does express a very nice sentiment. Not everyone is nice whether they identify themselves as Christian, atheist, or whatever. Your blog touched someone deeply. That's nice in an odd sort of way. I very much agree that all people "suck" sometimes. Your responder had a spiritual moment. I'm glad you enjoyed sharing not only there, but here as well. No need to paint with a broad brush, though. Appreciate the moment and go on to the next.

I am sorry about your illness.
I am happy that this person was able to show you the love and concern you needed at the time you needed it.
It's true, you know...there really are a lot of good, caring people in this world.
I, also, have only good wishes for you, and I do hope that things will get better for you soon.
God bless you!

they are not Jews simply by fact Jew's don't have self belief the messiah has come yet. they don't have self belief Jesus so believing in Jesus and asserting your Jewish needless to say contradicts one yet another.... that's unhappy that there are those Evangelist Christians that decision themselves "Jews". end this custom now, your disgracing the two Judaism and Christianity.

Some of us are like that. It's called loving people, and the biggest commandment of Jesus.
I too wish more Christians would remember that in their daily lives.

What a wonderful comment. I agree. Sometimes we can be so "holier than thou". It really quite ridiculous, because we are so far from perfect! I wish you the best, hang in there.

I don't know sadly. But many of us wouldn't have to work so hard to destroy negative stereotypes if more were that way.
