No it's not fair, but it is still wrong what you did. It seems as if your mother expects much more from you, and you scared her! As a mother myself, I get angrier at my kids when they do something and not let me know. Perhaps she wouldn't have been so mad if you asked her if you could leave class first. She may have understood and would have been able to cover your butt when the school called her to let her know you had missed class. Skipping school is against the law- wether you do drugs or not- it's still illegal activity. Don't skip school, ask your mother next time, and keep up the good grades.

actually, you and your brother should be in school. If he missed 131 days, there is definitely a problem that should be addressed
and taken care of whoever your guardian or parents are. They are the ones who get fined and put in jail.

Your's was a nobel situation and it should be looked at more favorably then your brother's situation. I believe that you can flunk grade years to a certain point and then they get rid of you anyway.

as a parent I am wondering why you needed to 'sit' with a friend at the Dr. If you felt so strongly that you needed to be there with her why did you not ask permission? Skipping school is skipping school. Period.

Well, its all relative. It sounds like you are a better kid than your brother, and your parents must know that. they expect more out of you. Skipping school is something your brother would do... be proud of the fact that your parents expect better things of you, it means they still care....As for your bro........?

Of course he should be punished more severely. I'm thinking that your parents have just given up on your brother and they just expect a lot out of you.

I dont believe you should of been punished as severly as him but I think its because parents are always gonna be a little more stricter on the daughter because she's a girl.

while you intentions were more admirable, you still violated school rules by leaving without permission ... had you bothered to go to the trouble of getting permission from your parents to accompany your gf, yu would not have gotten in trouble ... rules are not made to be broken
