There is some concern about M/W emissions leakage from my home microwave oven.

As you cannot see microwave energy, you need an instrument that can detect microwave energy. I don't know if you are experienced in electronics, so I won't go into how to make one.

You can purchase ready-made tester from various places. Simply google, "microwave leakage tester" and you will find quite a few.

Whatever you do, if you are concerned about leakage, DO NOT stare into the opening of the oven while it is on. Your eyes completely lack an ability to sense heat. You won't know it until it is too late.

I'm curious why you think there is a leakage. Because of how microwave energy travel and how farady shield works, an existance of a small gap doesn't mean there is an RF (microwave) energy leakage.
