The house is a 3 bedrooms 2 bathrooms, so built for a 4 people family. The glasses and cups cabinet will be 42" high, but I am not sure wether to put a 24" wide or 30" wide cabinet. What do you think?

The wider the better because with 4 people you will be piling glasses on top of each other. I just think the width is more important than the height. Lucky You!

I my new friend am a cabinet installer and can tell you with out a doubt that you want to go with the 30X42 The 24x42 will look skinnier because of the tall cabinet box. Most people have a hard time getting to the top of 42s anyway so get yourself a step stool.

didn't i answer this same question for u last weekend??
the more cabinet space u can have the better...
kitchens sell houses and people like to have lots of storage space in their kitchens...
put as much cabinet space as u can fit in the kitchen.

the overall look in one issue...but i guess you will need to decide which size cabinet will maximise usage...as you will not want wasted corners.
