We had cordless phones for a while, but it got to where it felt like all we did was screw around with batteries. I got tired of it and bought three new phones with full sets of cords, one with an extention that will reach through the most popular areas of the house. Sometimes too much technology can be more trouble and expense than it is worth!

We generally refer to those as land-lines as opposed to cell phones. If you are referring to cordless phones, then they too are land-lines. The only difference is that the data is transmitted from the line to a receiver, the hand held unit. There is another class of phones called satellite phones. They work on the same principle as cell phones except they are "on steroids" so to speak.
I have land-lines. That is all I have.

Yes, if the power goes out and if you do not have a cell phone a corded phone does not use electricity therefore it is still useable. A cordless phone can not be used if you have no power.

You should always have a corded phone in case of a power failure. I have 2 corded, 1 portable, and 1 cell.

Do you mean home phones as opposed to cell phones? Or wireless home phones versus corded ones? Either way, I do. I have a corded home phone and no cell.

Of course, how else will you always know where your phone is at and how else would you use your home phone when the electricity goes out?

I have one in my house, but never really use it, I also have a rotary phone in my basement. It is good if your phone battery dies and you need the phone right away.

Yeah, it's old technology but more reliable. You don't have to worry about running out of battery.
