Put some dish soap, a good grease fighting dish soap onto a wet rag, hold your kitty in your lap with an old towel or something to protect you and your clothes and wipe firmly, but gently with the wet rag. Anything else will hurt your kitty and you will be upset about that. Good Luck!

Stay away from harsh chemicals. If you are going to use gasoline, which is not a good idea, then you might as well use Berryman's B-12 Chemtool which is a worse idea regarding health. The best thing to use is old fashioned soap and water. Use a hair shampoo, dish washing soap or some similar detergent. They break up oils. They won't get all the oil off, but the cat will be better off than with the stuff that will get it all off.

here's the best idea! take the cat to the vet, have her give it a valium. then either you or the vet can take your time cleaning the paws without using any harmful chemicals.
the cat will get a buzz, the vet will get $10 or $20, and you will get the oil off the cat's feet without getting the s h i t scratched out of you.
sounds like a win-win situation to me.

oh god! DONT USE GOO GONE that stuff is so potent you arnt even supposed to get it on your own hands. I would use nothing other than dishsoap. Your cat wont like it but you dont want it licking all the oil off on its own. Good luck and wear long sleeves! Oh yeah dont use gasoline or paint thinner either. Are you people crazy????? That stuff is way too toxic. Dont use it unless you wanna make your cat sick or possibly kill it !

Dawn dish soap. They used it on the penguins that have been caught in oil slicks.

The best way is with linseed oil.. and if that does not work.. a cloth moistened in gasoline and then quickly washed again in soap and water
