Lets be sensible for a minute. If youthink you can make it work...do that first with your husband.
Then!!! you both later may be able to have that trip together.Try Australia!! really..its awsome.
But work first on what you need to do....and as for not having the money. well never give that dream away.....o.k.
I hope it never gets out of your system, for once you have travelled...you change, and I believe for the better...I have been to America 3 times....and other places......all the best.keep dreaming girl!!

Sometimes having money for travel is a matter of priority. For me I don't have a car (take public transport), I clip coupons, buy used clothes and don't go out to eat much - all so that I can save every penny in order to travel the world. If you make it a priority and organize your budget around it - you could make it work.

Also - try going for travel packages (that include hotel and airfare - they're often great deals!).

First, WHY would you want to get it out of your system? Start small and set goals too. Tell yourself in 2 years I will do this...etc. Start with being a tourist in your own area, camping, hiking, etc. Whatever you're into, then proceed to longer road trips. We did camping cabins thru 3 states along with rafting, sightseeing, canyoneering etc and had a blast. Family of four on 4,000.00. I think thats pretty dam thrifty for 2 weeks of fun. You can also travel with groups thru your local college and even thru magazines like National Geo and Smithsonian-from USA to worldwide. Even costco has package trips....Do some research and find out, its not as scary as you may think-moneywise. Go-DO! Be safe and have fun--and don't let anyone tell you not to--maybe thats what you should do as a career?!

where there's a will.. there's a way!
