Smoking is a chronic relapsing condition. However given the high morbidity and mortality related to smoking, getting smoker to quit is important . There has been a significant advancement in the understanding of the nature of nicotine addiction. It is a challenge for the family members that have a member smoking. No I am not a smoker, and I thank God !

Not any more, as ridiculous as it may sound to anyone still smoking, I have this strong feeling when I see someone shivering outside an office building, or smell someone returning from their quick smoko, that they are still slaves and I have been set free. It's about 6 months now, I do still get the odd hmm, I could really go a ciggarette right now pang, but it is easy to resist. I don't know why I have been successful in quitting 'this time' when I've tried so many times before. I simply finally REALLY came to the understanding that I just SHOULD NOT BE DOING IT..... AS I said, I don't know what it was this time, but I am FREEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEE. (and spending guilt free on clothes and makeup and outings as I have never done before....... No I'm not saving that money, I'm using it to have a richer and more fulfilling life..........ahhhhhh. Does that answer your question????????

Not any more. Quit over 18 months ago (for the fourth, but longest time) and still have no desire to return, especially since my roommate still smokes and has a cough that makes her sound 72 years old. She's 27. I have so much more energy and the only downside of quitting is that I drink a lot faster than I used to. (I'd go puff, puff, puff, gulp. Now it's gulps only).
The next question should be: Do you drink hard?

I am a professional unpaid TV watcher who has not had a ciggarrett since 12/4/06. I still concider myself a smoker since I feel for the pain and suffering most smokers undergo.
Why is it that society is OK with taxing Cigaretts ... then spending the tax money on stadiums (Foot-ball, Hockey/ Basketball, Baseball stadiums) ... government buildings ... and then they say to good tax paying cigarrett smokers that the source that pays for these amenities "You're not invited here" ... and we'll "Fine you/ throw you in Jail" if you use the source that pay's for the facilities? That's just so wrong. NON-SMOKERS SUCK!!! They haven't a clue and are very RUDE.

YES!!! Of the thing I most regret in life was to start smoking, thought it was cool,Id fit in.Its not a HABIT,Its an ADDICTION!!!.I say you will risk your job for two things,To get a cigarette or to try to find someone to have sex with you.lol Your food loses its taste, your teeth turn yellow, you are very irritable when you need a fix,You feel bad,it drags you down, your throat hurts, its expensive, causes lung cancer, emphysema. Will I quit, hell no.I have the right to kill myself and this will do it but the addiction for the nicotine is overtaking.Don't start!!!!!!!!!!.I need a cigarette now.

Only after sex. I looked. The bedroom (or family room, or trapeze and mirrors room) looks like Akron during the Tire Burning Festival.
If you expect a serious answer, have the sense to pick the proper category. Genealogy is for people with a puckish sense of humor who delight in hyperbole.
