White. But there is more ...
In Catholic adult baptism, the person wears a brown robe before and while being baptized.
Then he or she dries off and changes into a white robe for the rest of Mass.
This wonderfully symbolizes on the outside what is happening on the inside.
With love in Christ.

White? I remember a great deal of white in all the major ceremonies.
Baptism
First Holy Communion
Confirmation
Holy Matrimony
Holy Orders
I have made many a shawl, cake, dress, vestment, etc. and white always seemed the color of choice.
Is there something I don't know?

well hon there is ONE baptism and there IS scripture to back it up. recall that when the disciples went around baptizing they did entire families (which included infants). sure many were adults because they were adults when Christ came to them. when they came to town, if a family had a child they would have them baptized promising God to raise them properly. most families did this because they wanted the best for their child. your being miffed was wasted energy and i'm glad you've opted for using your energies in other ways. you can not be baptized again, however in the Rcc there are stages of your life at which you should have reconsecrated yourself.... the Sacraments of Holy Communion and then Confirmation. obviously as you have not made these, your parents did not continue with your faith teachings. your choice now is to join a parish and RCIA program in which you ARE making a conscious choice to choose the Catholic faith. God bless you in your journey!

Violet. See below from New Advent (www.newadvent.org)
Violet is used during Advent and from Septuagesima to Easter, on vigils that are fast days, and on ember-days, except the vigil of Pentecost and the ember-days during the octave of Pentecost. Violet is also used for Mass on rogation-days, for votive Masses of the Passion and of penitential character, at the blessing of candles and of holy water. The stole used in the administration of penance and of extreme unction and in the first part of the baptismal ceremonies must be violet.
