I agree nine million percent. the reason they are afraid, is they are paranoid, because of their in built guilt over the years, of screwing up the Indians, then slow, bit by bit the rest of the world. so, if they do not know what some people are saying, they **** themselves...totally outta control....the u.s.a. is nuts.

Your Question (phrased as a statement): They keep whining about immigrants speaking in languages other than their own- which is not even theirs to begin with, just a butchered up version of the Queen's English.
Answer: We Americans don't "whine" about immigrants speaking in other languages. We have the same problem ALL countries have. Have you ever been to a country that speaks a language you do not? Have you tried to speak to someone in that country in a tongue they do not speak? Bottom line is; If you decide to visit a country speaking a different language, you should try to learn some basic communication skills. If you intend to carpetbag in that country, you should learn the language fluently. You say Americans are so critical of people not speaking English in America. That is not true. Try assimilating, not killing Americans, paying U.S. taxes, and not using your status to smuggle in drugs, and we Americans would be much more open-minded. We Americans do have a version of the English language that we use daily. Apologies to you if you feel it is...... "butchered up".
Your Question/Statement: The rest of the world has no problem learning a second language (even at least at a conversational level). Why can't they? Are Bush's followers really that stupid??
Answer: Why should the United States allow the language of the land to become a second language? If you didn't have your head in your backside, you would know that all U.S. students have the option, many have a requirement to learn a second language in school. Many already know 2 languages because of the family environment they reside in. Why are you upset? Is it because you think that we Americans don't, or refuse to speak 2 languages? Or, is it because we feel that when in Rome......?
Your last statement is a rant regarding the physical state of Americans. You really need to do some research. If you think that your country is setting the tone as the picture of health, you are mistaken. Actually, the Queen's England is catching up fast. So, brush up fatty, and Cheers Big Ears.
And, before I forget, Find out a little about America before you shoot your stupid mouth off.
P.S. If you are an American, and feel so badly about our country, you should find a new home.

Why should Americans learn the language of a poor third world nation, and immigrants shouldnt learn the language of the country they move to, the language of the most powerful nation in history?
Now, if an American wants to go live in another country then they should learn the language.
And you want to talk about butchering a language? Try learning proper spanish then trying to communicate with people in Mexico... not gonna happen.

It has nothing to do with second languages,it has to do with people who are not even legally in your country demanding that you change your culture to suit them. Go to any other country in the world and try to become a citizen, can you guess what one of the requirements will be,a working knowledge of the language. People in Europe may very well learn multiple languages,my last girlfriend in Germany spoke 7,so what? It's a choice, not Turks entering Germany and demanding that Germans learn their language,I know you know the difference, you're clearly not that stupid, but you choose to muddy up the issue and throw insults, not a good way to win an argument. And they are not immigrants until they show up at your door and ASK if they can enter your country, until then they are illegal immigrants, everybody likes hyphenated Americans so much well there you go illegal-immigrants,another hyphenated group to add to the lexicon.

because of the fact, althought community human beings have been here first, the united states, as a rustic the only you're in now, became based via human beings whose language became English. They based the rustic, and that they set the guidelines. And, in case you have not observed yet, even community human beings found out and talk English besides to their community language. This not the Babel Tower this the rustic, like it or bypass away it....

How many languages do you speak. When someone enters this country legally or illegally a need to learn English is a must. That would be like you going to China and trying to live there without knowing the language. How are you going to stand up for your self and become independent if you can't speak the language? Not every country is going to bend over backwards and put everything in your language like this country does.

have you ever heard of a nation's right to preserve its culture?? probably not. yes there is such a thing as american culture and if we let this country become bilingual it will lose a sense of identity. trust me you dont want your town by a bunch of people who cant even speak english. no one does. and im a democrat who hates bush so dont assume all people against illegals are republican conservatives. hell, most dems dont want this to become a second mexico either. theres nothing wrong with learning a second language, but we shouldn't be forced to simply because a bunch of illegal mexicans want to steal what we have here. that is beyond stupid.

This has nothing to do with fear. It is about people who demand that we change everything to accommodate them. I don't care if people speak in their native languages as long as they don't expect special priveleges for not learning the language of the country they choose to reside in. And there is absolutely nothing wrong with learning a second or even third language as long as illegal aliens are not dictating which ones we choose.
I really have to question the sanity of anyone who could have a problem with my answer. US citizens can't please anyone whether we bend over and take it or stand up and say no to unreasonable demands.

Why do we have to be like every other country in the world...we didn't get to be the most powerfull country by being followers. I work at a hospital in San Antonio TX and its so annoying how many illegals come here and don't know how to speak the language. Yet the sure know alot about our free healthcare system...It makes me sick...but im sure your so educated and smart that you already knew all that. And im sure your more then willing to pay for them out of your own paycheck right...actually why don't you just be a good American and Donate your entire paycheck to helping these people since your so concerned about what our country does.....SHut up unless you know what your talking about.

I have always found this an hysterical situation.
For a country that was founded by immigrants to get so hot under the collar about immigrants being able to speak the English language. Especially when the indigenous languages spoken by the great Indian races has all but been wiped out.
