Why not? You can get her herpes (thats what they are, cold sore is just a nicer name so people don't get offended) from her even when she doesn't have visible sores. The herpes virsu sheds even when there are no outward signs. That said iit is much easier to catch it when she does have sores. If the sIut has been knockin off nasty dick, do you want to touch her anyway???

Yes and Herpes Simplex I is not contagious in most cases. I have read some of the other answers and this is from the misinformation about Herpes.
There are at least 80 different Herpes viruses in humans, a cold sore is simplex I, simplex III is the genital type that you get through sex.
Almost everyone has Herpes Simplex I in their body, it lies dormant until something triggers it as a cold sore. (The scientific/medical estimate is that as many as 95% of us are born with it.)
I have never had an outbreak from a cold sore by kissing someone (over 400 women so far and endless relatives.)

You will catch the cold sore and you can N E V E R (NEVER) be rid of them. You will carry that herpes virus with you until you die.

You can, but you'll catch it. And then every time you get stressed out for the rest of your life (before a big game, hot date, wedding pictures etc) you'll have a big, crusty thing on your lip.
I say cuddle and no kissy until it goes away.
