Not much difference really.. But i think Baptists believe apart from accepting Jesus Christ as your personal Lord and Savior, you have to be baptized as well. Methodists believe it's accepting Jesus Christ as your personal Lord and Saviour. The bottom line, is that they both believe in Jesus Christ as Lord and Saviour and that's all that matters.

Baptists believe in:

The secret rapture
Immortality of the soul
Eternal torment
Once saved always saved
Sunday sacredness
The Law was done away in Christ

Methodists believe:

They reject a literal second coming
Infant baptism/adult baptism
Many reject the authority of the Bible

Those are just the general differences. With churches breaking away within each other there may be some new differences. Not sure though.

The most important common thing is that we believe in God. I'm neither Baptist nor Methodist, but I do believe that.

I like that one....I am PB.....I always joke around in the liquor store...

Lets see, not that I am in a serious mood but........

as for Primitive Baptists.....we believe in the following:

Full Water Baptism
Salvation by Grace
Communion with foot washing
Predestination
We don't believe in music in church...just singing

here is a link with frequently asked questions, the problem is its an faq for our religion compared to other baptist religions.

Doby.....I have yet to hear hell fire and damnation preached at a primitive baptist church. Please realize there are many different types of baptist religions, I take personal offense to the reference.....you don't see saying how horrible your faith is.

being a fundamental baptist, i would never go to a liquor store. for my kind of baptists, we believe in a very high standard, cause the Bible says "abstain from all appearance of evil". are we perfect? no only Jesus. Are we better? nope, just trying to give God a cleaner life.

Baptists preach hell fire and brimstone. Everyone who isn't Babtist goes to hell. In fact the Babtist church across town is all going to hell.. Just this church, hell just me is going to heaven.
No homosexuals, no Democrats, no liberals are going to heaven.
That is a Babtist:
This is a Methodists, everyone is going to heaven and we are not certain there even is a hell. We love everybody and everything.
Do your own thing! Believe the way you want! Just be good.
Love your neighbor, help your neighbor and make sure you are right with God. God just loves everybody and all religions are ok.
