This is a great debate that I often get into with my bros. I however lean towards Ali. Reason being is look at Foreman. That dude's fists were wrecking balls. Definetely the Tyson of his day. Sure Tyson was faster than Foreman, but not as fast as Ali. Plus on the intelligence scale you can't even begin to compare. And lastly, Tyson has shown that once he takes a couple of hard shots his heart begins to disappear. Again, I take Ali.

Ali was the fighter with the speed; Tyson had power. Tyson has always lost to a boxer who could move. I'd say Ali would win.

Ali. Better chin, better character, better heart, faster hands, faster feet, the supreme ring general, better at fight psychology, he didn't know the word quit! But Tyson did. Ali fought during the golden age of the Heavyweights. He fought and defeated the likes of Liston, Patterson, Williams, Terrell, Bonavena, Frazier, Norton, Foreman, Quarry, Lyle, Bugner. Granted his record against these opponents wasn't perfect, there were losses, but who did Tyson beat? Really think about it. His greatest moment was against a blown up Light Heavyweight, granted an all time great Light Heavy, Michael Spinks. Result of this match up no question Ali TKO round 12.

tyson didn't have as much speed as ali. tyson came in with a barrage. ali fought a couple people like that. ali was the first guy to take people like that into the later rounds.

by-the-way, tyson's corner wouldn't allow him to fight holyfield earlier because holyfield was exactly the type of fighter that could beat him (an outside jabber that can take a punch...sounds like ali to me!)

ali is paying for it now, but he could take a punch. ali didn't take many early in his career because of his speed. george foreman was an absolute brut. ali fought him like he was an over-grown kid.

it is my belief that ali would have beaten tyson 10 out of 10 times if they had fought. holyfield may have done the same?!

i should mention, that i'm a huge fan of tyson's early career. didn't like ali, didn't like holyfield. i watched ali fight against frasier and became a believer. watched holyfield fight against bowe and was amazed. even if tyson hadn't let me down, i would still be forced to admit that i think a young ali would pick him apart...and yes, ali could take his punch.

i'm not ferdi, however, i did stay at a holiday inn express last night!

No one and I mean no one could match the speed and quickness of Ali,even Tyson in his prime would have wound knocked out from the accumulation of blows from Ali.

ali in his prime had super fast feet..his lateral movement in the beginning of the fight would tire tyson out...ali wins by decision

It is a great questions, i think it would have been a great fight, with unknown resolution, the key here is that Mike used to intimidate his opponent thing that he couldn't have achieved with Mohamed, anyway talking of the fight, if Mohamed would have passed the five first round he would have won the fight, mike always was the best in the short distance and Mohamed in the long.
