Actually, the price is out. You'd have to buy it, and $159 to upgrade from your current version of Windows to Vista Home Premium.

Windows vista will not be avail till late 2006 early 2007 I gather.
The best way to upgrade is to either do a complete re-install of Vista after your have purchased the software, or there may even be a deal around to a lower cost upgrade, check with the place you bought the pc from.
have a look at the windows vista site below, this will give you more information, and a better idea of the features for each version.
Select the version that suits your needs, not always the one that is the highest it can run on a pc.
Costs, check at Amazon they had some "early prices"

It means that your computer will run Vista. You have to buy Vista, and that will set you back somewhere around $300. But you don't have to use Vista. You can still use XP.

U.S. pricing has not been released yet, however, it will be similar to current pricing. It won't be downloadable, you'll have to purchase it retail. Vista comes on a DVD and not a CD-ROM disk.

I "know" a lot of programmers out there and they have told me that the newest version of Windows (Visa) is the biggest piece of Sh*t out there!!!
For starters, you better have at least 4GBs of Memory cards (you need a 64bit processor to use 4GBs of memory cards. 32bit only uses 2GBs.) & a Extremely fast CPU (like the Pentium Duo core) to run the operating system and programs with any kind of speed what so ever...it takes 2GBs of memory cards just to run the Vista Programing!!! This is a HUGE Resource HOG....
You couldn't pay me to install Vista....
Stick with XP Professional...

You will have to buy the CD-ROM. They put Windows Vista-enabled on there because they want to say "made for Windows XP" without saying "made only for Windows XP." For prices see:

US Window vista prices are not yet fixed,if your computer manufacturer allows you to down load Vista system from their website (mfrs) it's good for you, cause they will configure your software accordingly.and you will have a price advantage + other advantage from Mfrs website.
