Yes some of the newer cars are equiped with factory decks that will read MP3 files..but they still have to come on a meduim...Either on a CD or a Card or through an Ipod. Most CD's will hold 150 or so MP3 songs as opposed to 15 on a regular CD so the advantage is clear. Decks that play MP3's are also availbile on the market and have been for a few years. They are now becoming more commonplace...as well as Ipod connections.

A car stereo could, if it is new enough. Check to see if it says MP3 or WMA on the faceplate. It will usually say if it does.
