I do it all the time. My favorite one is called ''witz on a spitz'' to the tune of ''The wheels on the Bus go round and round''
What are your dorky songs?

Oh, man. I thought I was the only one. We have a couple of them...

The first one goes to the tune of "Oh My Darling Clementine", and it's called "Mama Loves You, Little One". It goes like this:

Mama loves you, Mama loves you, Mama loves you little one
She will always kiss and hug you and make life a lot of fun
When you're tired, or you're grouchy, or you're sad or even sick
All you have to do is tell me and your Mom will fix it quick

The other one is sung to the tune of "You're a Monster, Mr. Grinch", and it's called, "You're a Milk Scoffer, My Dear Boy".

Your a milk scoffer, my dear boy
You scoff all the milk
You scoff every bottle, you scoff every carton, my dear boy
You're the biggest milk scoffer in British Columbiaaaa!

There are others but I will spare you, LOL!

I have two daughters, almost 4 and 20 months.
Their dad is better at the song making up than I am, but we do it all the time. They both love to sing. But sorry, we don't have names to the songs, they change all the time. Its a whole lot more fun than just listening to the radio.

I am constantly doing that. Not just for my kids, but also the pets. I have a special jingle I sing when I feed our fish, Flying Batman. I think it makes every day more fun and keeps kids in a good mood through chores and boring parts of the day.

Nothing is dorky when its giving a parent's love to their child; your little ones will remember that music their whole life and when they have moments through life when they need a wonderful memory to give them a foot up or a hug, there you will be filling their lives with music; a glorious gift to give them that is uniquely theirs from someone who loves them beyond, beyond.

I actually do that with their nick names. I don't know I guess it's one of those mom things - that annoys our kids I'm sure.

my son, I call him papasito, and I just sing papasito a bunch of times to a melody I made up, I used to sing that song to my daughter, but call her mamacita of course.

there's also...Dante, dante, the big ol' baby Dante
same thing, repeated to a melody I made up

funny thing is, my daughter will sing the songs to him too. He'll be two, she is 6.
