I much prefer: "THE BEST THINGS IN LIFE ARE NOT THINGS"
but nothing comes without cost, be it monetary or emotional.

It reminds me of Lee Atwater. He was a rising star of the Republican party in the 1980's and very much responsible for Reagan defeating Dukakis in the 1980 election. Everything was wonderful until it was discovered he had an inoperable brain tumor. He said (and I paraphrase) "I have gained more power, prestige and money by age 40 than most people will in a lifetime, but would give everything I have for just one more day with my family"

I agree with this quote, because the best things in life aren't the material things. You come to find the best things in life aren't the brand new car you just bought, the designer clothes, or having a big bank account. You can't by love, or your health, or contentment.

Yes, the best things in life are free. Family and love.

That means that love is free. To me, love is the best part of life.

I disagree completely. You have to work at relationships, even when you love the person and even if they are family. I am close to my family but don't consider these relationships free because they can be tiresome and completely wear me out at times. My siblings and parents can be very demanding of time and energy. Just my take on things.
