As long as you dont have a perm it should be cool, just super condition it afterwards.

If you're careful and your hair is very healthy, you can do it twice, but chances are, the reason your hair got so dark is because it is very porous, meaning it's dry and sucks up any kind of moisture, including peroxide (which is in many hair colors and is not particularly good for your hair) and the color itself. If you do it twice, especially with the same color, you will probably not acheive the color you're wanting. Your best bet is to shampoo it a few times to tone it down some and enjoy it for a while, give your hair a break from the chemicals and do it again in a couple weeks. Instead, give your hair some conditioning with a good conditioner such as Biolage or Redkin.

Color will not lift color. That means your light red will not make your burgandy go away. Sorry. Take a visit to a salon have them look at it. DO NOT CALL we can't see over the phone so we have no idea how to help.

It's not recommended, but it can be done. I once tried to change my hair color from golden blond to ash. Oops! It turned green. However, I was not going to make the same mistake twice, I called a hair salon and had a professional fix it. She colored it again, a darker shade to cover the green.

No it's not safe...most people who dye their hair twice in the same day start to lose their hair....the chemicals in hair dye are EXTREMELY STRONG and if you're not careful they'll make all of your hair fall out, if you don't use them properly!

it won't hurt it...if it was pretty healthy to start out with. it's not really recommend it...but nothing will happen. i've wound up with the wrong shade a few times....and corrected it using your method. go for it. but limit it to the 2X...no more. =)
