Is it worth the risk? The Bible clearly teaches that those who reject Christ will not enter heaven - John 3:18, Revelation 20:15, etc.

What a sad, boring life you must lead. First, there is no hell. Second, Jesus in NOT my personal savior, and third, the bible is full of half-truths & hypocrisy...why do you pick this passage to adhere to? I don't "reject" Christ, but I do NOT believe that this individual, if he ever even existed, has anything to do with my life or after-life. It's all bollocks.

Simple, because there has been so many bad examples of Christianity

Let's take the most popular one...Priests who rape children

A christian priest, who I'm assuming is at least aware that there are Ten Commandment, namely the one about adultery, goes around and back molests little boys and girls. Okay, this is terrible, but an isolated incident.

Now, the Christian church catch wind of this and act. Did they isolate him from the community? Did they send him to jail? No! The 'forgave' his sins and sent him to a different church where he could do this again...and again..and again.

Item 2

How many times do you see a Muslim knocking on your door asking you to join their faith? Or a Wicca? Hindu? Anything that doesn't get it's origins in Christ? I've been on the planet a little while and I can tell you that Christians can be down right intrusive.

Terrorism? Try this Spanish inquisition! the 12 mile missions! All Christian. Salem witch trials? Burning people alive because they were " of the devil"! Yeah, they were christian too. I have personnally see Christian have wiccan parents lose their children because they considered them " delusional " for being wiccans, even though Wicca is a Federaly recognised religion.

With all this in mind, it's no wonder the world hates us. Christianity doesn't have any christians in it. Of if it does...SPEAK UP!!

People reject Christ because Christian reject Christ. They don't follow his teachings yet expect to get into heaven. good luck with that.

Why would someone damn their own creation.
You took this verse one step too far... Why assume that Hell is Permanent?

Couldn't it be a self-inflicted prison, if you assume that God, who created us and loves us, would not condemn anybody, but allowing free will, allow one to condemn him or herself?

And if this was self-imposed, why could one not leave it? Christians do believe (but often forget) that Jesus descended into Hell when He died and preached there. Do you think he preached just to hear His own voice? No, there was a reason, being that those who died could still choose to follow Him.

Additionally, one must remember that God would not be bound by time, so this wasn't like a one chance thing, miss it and you're out.

I think many people might reject Christ as their savior and become so hostile to the idea of Christianity because in the haste of saving souls, compassion is forgotten, and instead, people are alienated. If one takes any time to view these posts, one will see that quoting the Bible and threatening eternal damnation does nothing to convince the "heathens" (how do Christians putting up posts like that expect to do ANY good?!?!). Rather, demonstrate an open mind and compassion (NOT condescension)!
*by the way, not to pick on this post, this is awfully mild compared to others. Sorry for venting.

Those who reject Christ do not believe in the existence. Jews believe in God, yet don't acknowlege Jesus as the son of God. Nor do they acknowlege the New Testament as fact. Scientologists reject the notion of any God. If there is no God, how could there possibly be a hell? We all have our own personal beliefs, and it's up to the individual to conclude what he/she is comfortable with. The question may be, "why do so many so-called Christians reject Christ at their savior"? Now that would definately be perplexing.

Some people dont believe the Bible as being the "word of God" like most Christians believe

Thus, they have their own religion, and own "savior", and believe that their version of the afterlife is true rather than the one shown in the Bible......just like you prob don't believe in reincarnation, while other religions do and might ask you the same question on why you dont believe in THAT!!

I hope this helps.....ppl are entitled to their own beliefs
i guess we'll find out who's right at the "end of the world" lol

Christ presented them the dominion even as He walked the following in the international, so that they'd were kept as an complete in the journey that they'd have common it, yet in view that they rejected it, Christ stated that He would turn the dominion over to a rustic bringing forth end result that are the gentiles. So now Jewish human beings can nonetheless be kept as persons and be interior the arriving Kingdom which will ensue upon Christs 2d coming, yet Israel won't be able to be kept as a rustic. They gave that precise up even as they rejected Jesus Christ. And as for us helping Israel, convinced we ought to continually help the Jewish human beings. we ought to undergo in recommendations that they are God's chosen human beings. The bible tells us to wittiness to the Jews first and then to the Gentiles.

Your question is based on two faulty premesis:

1) That there is a "probablilty" of hell existing. There is no evidence whatsoever of its existence at all, only the revenge fantasies of religionists against other religionists.

2) That Christ is anyone's savior. Beyond a mouthful of claims there is no evidence that this is true either.

Add to that the fact that writings in a book created by desert-dwelling nomads in the late stone age don't particularly impress me.

This is basically Pascal's Wager.

People do not choose to believe or not, and the reward or punishment is not evidence. If I offered you a million quid to *believe* the moon was purple, would you take the money? Thinking the thought "the moon is purple" or imagining a purple moon does not count. I doubt you could honestly claim your prize.

Or, are you suggesting Jesus rewards people who make insincere statements of "faith"? Am I OK if I *say* I accept Jesus and not believe it? Why would he be impressed with this lawyeristic hair-splitting use of weasel words?

Your question also assumes that belief is normal, and non-belief is strange. From the point of view of somebody that does not believe, this non-belief is not self-defining in the way belief is. They don't reject Christ; they don't have faith in Christ, but that is not the same thing as *rejection*, in the same way you (I assume) do not believe in the Flying Spaghetti Monster or Thor. You haven't rejected Thor as your personal source of thunder - you just don't think that way.

People go through hell in this life when they are alive. They do not need to go through hell after they die. They are already judged by their friends, relatives, society, government, neighbours etc. and given punishment according to their standards.
The kingdom of heaven is within you! so according to Revelation one will not enter the heaven on earth - the kingdom of heaven is within you.
The soul has no feelings such as to see, hear, taste, smell etc. The body (which can feel/experience pain) is rotting in some grave here or became ashes. What can experience hell?

Christ is not necessarily the only option for salvation. There are many other religions out there. Why choose a religion that sends you to hell if you don't believe in Christ regardless of how well you have lived your life? I would like to think that God would be kinder than that....
