of Yahoo answers than most other subjects? And it is so often the Christians attacking, which I believe was covered when Jesus said "Do unto other's...l" Why do Christians continually ignore the teachings of THEIR messiah and attack other's for differing opinions on the matter? Peace.

The following answers, I suspect, will illustrate my point exactly. Happy answering.

Thanks for the support but to those of you who view my mere QUESTION as an attack, I do have some sympathy however my QUESTION is just that, a QUESTION. If and when I choose to attack, it is to your face. The wound is often so swift and so lethal you are in shock for about 20 minutes until it slowly dawns on you that I have just told you to kiss my a$$. But I do not like to do this to people, that part of my pysche is saved for self-righteous bigots who bother other's with their drivel. This was a question, the "attack" you are perceiving is in your own mind. Peace.

Marco, I am about as non-christian as you can get. When I saw this "label" you attached to me, I was not only NOT offended, as I should be, but I thought of you as NON-FEMALE. Still smarting from the answer I posted to your question yesterday no doubt. Peace.

To BigBoyB, I understand the point you are making and if would be good if people limited their aggressions to a written forum. Sadly this is not the case. But let us not forget the KKK, the inquistion, "witch" burnings, anti-semitic violence, well the list goes on and on when we remember what "christians" have done to others. Thanks for answering. Peace.

I suspect that alot of people become christians because of the, oh so human, tendency to want ot have something about which to "lord it over others" Mt. 20: 20-28, and Christianity is the perfect excuse to do that even though that is exactly the opposite of Jesus intention, (see above scrip.)
Also sometimes someone has been really damaged in the name of Christianity and wants to strike back. I did that just yesterday to someone asking about the religion, (Jehovahs Witnesses) that really scarred me and my family irreparably. I get especially angry with them because they act like they are above all the sins other christians are suseptable too.
And then some christians really believe that if they don't convert people to their way of thinking, those people will lose their eternal souls. They really feel responsible for "saving" everyone they come in contact with, so they can't allow for a difference of opinion. Obviously this causes a whole host of problems. Especially if said Christians believe in a literal "hell"

P.S. how can you not think it is an attack when you make broad negative generalizations about whole groups of people just because you put it in the form of a question. Maybe you should be asking yourself, "why am I so defensive about this issue?"

Yes, I agree with you, it is very sad. You know, that religion is the reason for all those wars and it goes way back in history. It's a big issue between all those different countries and among ourselfs. I have noticed, that at that section, there are the most ratings on all the answers not like at any other section. Some people are religious some are not, still we are all humans and we have the right to believe in whatever we please.

Well, just be thankful that people aren't like this in real life (for the most part).

It's odd how we tend to forget that there real people reading these postings.

Maybe if we could all treat people here the same way we would if we were sitting across the table (in real life), things would be more civil.

God knows I've been guilty of getting a little rude through my text only, alter ego. I have to stop that.

If you have the confidence and trust in something you believe in you will not seek confirmation nor opinion from other people. If you do not open the door others will not walk in. Why do you doubt what you believe in. Because you suspect that your belief may be wrong. Every one is born/ or takes up a religion. Then tries to convince that his/her religion/belief is the true/correct one. It is due to lack of conviction in one's beliefs.
Not only Christians but many others are also narrow-minded.
Will the blood transfusion, kidney transplant, or heart transplant not work if the giver and the reciever are not of the same religion?

I agree completely, though I don't know why this is such a volatile category. Answers I post here tongue-in-cheek have a much higher rate of suspension than ones I post in other forums (using the same humor). People need to grow up and realize that words are just words...

I am sorry that difference of opinion can make people attack each other especially on this page. You are right, it shouldn't be that way. Christians get a bad rap because of Jesus. It's not their fault for being zealous. Peace to all and may our differences be blotted out by love for our brothers and sisters. Oh by the way, I love Jesus and I don't like the attacks either.

Just LOVE them Love THem. Be an Angel today:

One kind word, one kind smile, one gesture, is often enough to serve as a catalyst. We don't see it, but the world changes around us.

We are meant to pat each other on the back and offer happiness.

When we do, happiness is returned-- and encompasses us with a sort of heavenly energy.

That power may then manifest as something we really need, perhaps a healing, perhaps a change in attitude. And we can pass it on; we can transmit it. We are called to emulate angels. They are messengers of God's love and we are called to do the same.

Patience. Forbearance. Here is the stuff of angels. Think of all the times your guardian has stood by you despite your conduct. The Book of Proverbs tells us that "a patient man is better than a warrior, and he who rules his temper, than he who takes a city."

Religion and politics are volatile subjects. Any message board with a religious topic is the same. If you think it's rough here, check out The History Channels board.

It is ok if the IDEA is attacked and NOT the person. And in most cases of people being beligerant on here are atheists. Do the math. Count how many insulting things to Christianity are on the page currently, its truly amazing! People REALLY hate Gods children and God himself.

Little knowledge is really dangerous and oftentimes most of the attackers are the ones that clearly show they know much less. Knowledge just help us to build wisdom but wisdom is useful if that leads one to understanding and understanding make a person more generous, respectful and loving. To understand is to make one righteous and to be righteous is the image that God created man in His own likeness.
