Do you like pigeons?

Question

I personaly hate the saying ''Rats with wings'' I do not consider pigeons to be a pest of any type.

These birds have saved many life's during the wars and have an excellent homming skill and can travel very far just to reach there home and in races they can be used to win money for kid hospitals as I have read.

Many humane's hate these birds for no good reason..pooping alot is NOT a good reason at all.
First we take away the passenger pigeon now we get mad at these birds for living there live's..like we would want to..its stupid!

I own and help these birds and there are many amazing breeds too some that can even do back flips in mid air & dive bomb to the ground its so neat as I have seen it with my own eye's.

Why get mad at a pigeon when you can be thinking about other things in life like its just stupid and a waste of time what has a pigeon ever done to you? besides poop on your new car...nature is MORE important that luxury with out it we would be dead of course....

These birds are truly amazing & beautiful.

Why get mad at one of gods creations he made you and all the things around so dont try to hate these things.

The birds and animals where here before us so dotn get mad at them.
A pigeon is a awsome pet or bird just to look at and feed at the park.

If you where a pigeon um sure you would not want to be hated.

Think about it.

Also about you people who freak out about every little thing (Avain flu).

Just to fill your brain pigeons are actualy very clean birds and dont carry any type of flu's that can harm you at all ...ducks,geese and other water fowl birds can carry harmful things when they catch it sadly.

I mean I freaken kiss wild pigeons :)

I agree with you. Many people do keep pigeons as pets, they're beautiful animals. Check out these details, particularly how pigeons have been used by humans in times of war - many carrier pigeons have received medals of honour, did you know? It's a bit hypocritical to give pigeons war medals when they're 'useful' to humans, and then call them 'pests' in another time and place!

pigeons are very interesting. i own about 12 not counting the ones that just hatched five days ago. they are truly interesting to play with.

i could let them all free on the weekeneds, because thats when i don't have school. and they amaze me i want to fly myself.

like you said some people hate pigeons of what they do but thats natural it would be like saying why birds fly? because they can..

I love pigeons :) me and my grandpa use to go down to the Harbour Key Marina in Port Alberni (Vancouver Island) every sunday and feed them day old plain muffins and doughnuts. nothin like sittin on a bench covered In pigeons lol

I don't live in a big city so I never really see pigeons. When I do though, I think they're so cute! I always like to feed them.

i am a bird lover but you take care just because the media are low profile with avian flu it does not mean all is well i can guarantee you will see the avian flu pandemic strike.

i use to feed all birds, encluding pigeons when we lived in the city. i still feed all of the birds in my backyard. i haven't seen any pigeons here. they must like the city better.

I like to feed them, but not to touch them. They really smell. Also they can transfer diseases such as The birds flu
