we have four birds and they are all by our back door..so they can call our dogs and meow and bark.and one can say my name.. I think the easiest way to get your bird to speak is saying what you want it to say over and over again playing the radio all day is really good for them..but repition and time are the best ways..good luck!!

It depends on the type of bird. My conure will repeat on command, but my cockatiels just whistle and say what they want , when they want. I have a CD with phrases for birds. I put it on repeat and let the birds listen to it for about an hour each day, then I reinforce it by saying those same phrases to them. When they learn one thing, I move on to another.

u cant teach it on command. it also depends on what kind of birds u have. some are more talkable then other species. but if it is the talkable ones u have to talk to it alll the time. to make them concentrate, cover the cage with some kind of cloth so nothing is disturbing them, then talk to themmm keep repeating what u want them to say. keep doing it for about a month

its better to teach a individual bird as when you have 2 birds they are wrapped up in each other and do not really listen to you, separate them ,and talk to one bird, repeat a word to him every day for a half hr. then do the other bird it takes time and love so be patient.

Keep practicing. Animals usually respond with a treat or some other type of reward. It is best to train a bird when it is young.

it will take awhile.you have to repeat the word or very short sentence over and over.every time you are around the bird say what you want him to learn. don't confuse him by saying allot of words, just stick to a couple of words.

I've had my bird, an African Grey, for almost 8 years. She says all kinds of things, but nothing I taught her. They seem to learn things you say a lot or shout a lot, like "hello!" and "ok".

In different words, each and every morning i might tell her.. you're in easy terms somewhat toddler birdie.. and every time she might do something stupid i might say "Whatcha doin?", and so on. ultimately she repeated those sayings. in simple terms save repeating. My poultry in no way knew me by skill of my call, yet instead called me "Babeee!" reliable factor she did no longer repeat what others called her.. LOL.. "You little shirt!" Mine additionally discovered the whistling very straight away.. as a count of certainty she might make up her very own tunes whilst left by skill of herself. as quickly as, i replace into strolling out in a container with mine on my shoulder and a airplane flew over very low.. my poultry quite regarded up and suggested "Prettttty poultry!" Ya in simple terms in no way know what they'll %. up.
