Christians live in fear that god will torture them in hell for all eternity if they don’t bow the knee to Jesus. They get mad when people bring this to their attention. They attack, judge and condemn the people who present to them the truth of their fear of god’s wrath. They lie and say things like my relationship is based on love of god. Even they know there is no such thing as a "personal relationship with Jesus"; they continue to perpetuate this lie. A personal relationship can only be had with someone who you can speak with on a personal level. Your so called "relationship" is nothing more than your sub-conscious mind. People claim Jesus speaks to them yet what Jesus "speaks" to them is in direct contradiction to the other Christian cults. Everyone has there own interpretation of the bible so thus it is subjective. They know deep inside their hearts that this is a lie but since they can’t handle the fact that they are afraid of god’s threats of torture them so they lash out in a ve

bottom line liars: You can't have a free will to accept anything if you're being coerced.just like someone putting a gun to your head and giving you a choice of handing over your money or dying. you have a free choice to accept or reject them right? But just like christianity is called coercion you stupid fuks so stop with all the rationaliziotions and bull sht. you fukers cant handle the god dmnd truth so stop lying and admit u would have nothing to do with god if there were no hell. now about know about god through his word, god dmn you idiots, so if you wanted to marry somene you'd buy a book about them and then read about them to know about them? u people r to brnwshd to see your own stupdity. use the brain god gave you and use your god dmnd logic and you will see that faith and logic can't be reconsild

Well, they actually fool themselves into believing that once they say the sinners prayer, they have a free ride and can do anything they want because they are just human after all and their sin is no longer held against them. They then try to control the rest of us by telling us we are going to hell.

I hope you read this with an open mind.
I will begin by saying this will not be preachy. I don't judge.
Additionally, I am Christian, but don't believe in your generalization.
Albeit, I might be a little more spiritually liberal than some Christains. Maybe it is because I Roman Catholic (which some christian fundamentalists might argue against).
I don't believe in a God that damns anybody. I believe that if He created something, why would He ever damn it?
Instead, I consider that there Is Hell, and that it is very real. However, I think that it is a totally human construction. When people get so wrapped up in themselves, self-centered, (understanding oneself is necessary, but obsession with oneself certainly is not good), so much so that they can see nothing else, this is their hell.
Consequently, they damn themselves. HOWEVER, being constructed by themselves, these people also have the capability of leaving it if they will. This might be when "Jesus descends to Hell" to preach.
Catholics believe in a concept of Purgatory, which is a kind of trial by fire that cleanses a soul before it goes into heaven. Fancy speech, whatever. If one leaves their self-constructed Hell, might that be their Purgatory?
Hell, then is not permanent, and has the potential to be wholly empty. I guess I'm not much of a "the tree lies where it falls" guy.
This, at least, is how I personally can reconcile an idea of Hell with that of a Creator. This also means that people don't have to be strictly "Christian" religious to avoid Hell.
I hope that this little bit was cogent enough. And hopefully, it will encourage you not to be too critical or generalizing. I understand it can be trying sometimes listening to tirades of condemnation. There is a lot of that on both sides here. Hopefully now, this is an example that not all are like that.

First of all, lets get something straight. It is not an unbelief in God that sends anyone to hell. A person goes to hell for lying, stealing, adultery, blasphemy, etc. That is to say, it is sin that condemns a person to hell. As a Christian, we worship God because of the undeserving mercy, grace, and forgiveness that He shows us. Now, God does speak to me, but I don't hear voices, and I don't see things, there are hospitals that are full of people that see things and hear voices. God communicates through His written word, The Bible. It is by reading the Bible that we learn what God's will is. Granted, everyone has their own interpretation, but I would argue that is the result of bad hermeneutics, which is how a person reads and interprets the Bible. The problem there is people read it with an "reader response" mind set, or they read a verse and say "what does this mean to me?" Doing such a thing can create false doctrine and a bad interpretation. Instead it should be read with an authorial intent mind set, that is to say, when reading a verse we ask the question, "what is the author trying to say here?" Doing so, most interpretations are gonna be about the same. Now, the question arises, should someone be afraid if hell? Yes, and they are right to be if they are not forgiven of their sins. But for the true christian, that fear is gone through our faith in God's grace.
So yes, we do come to Christ so that we will be forgiven of our sins and not go to hell. So, yes we do become Christians to escape God's wrath in hell. But, we love God and worship Him for providing a way out. Because He suffered and died on the cross, took our punishment for us, so that we wouldn't have to go to hell.

you are correct, everyone may have their own interpretation of the bible or of each passage therein...
in fact most people have very strong views and have formed very firm judgments and convictions about the bible without even reading through a single book of any of the 66 books that comprise the whole bible.
what i would like to point out is this.. it would be hard for anybody to lump people who are "christians" into one big group and basically label them as christians.
for there are so many christian denominations, sects, churches and cults that putting all these "believers" into a single label (as christians) is difficult. and of course there are people who label themselves as christians or might even have the name "christian" on their organization but it is by no means indicative of them being christians at all.
true Christians do not live in fear of God torturing them for all eternity because it is for that freedom that they were actually set free by the suffering, death & resurrection of their Savior Jesus Christ. Christians were set free from guilt, condemnation, sin & hell.
(if you are referring to a particular "type" of christian... it would be helpful if you would indicate that type in your question)

Someone who said their were a christian must have hurt you seriously.. Christians don't fear God's wrath anymore than a child fear their loving father. Would we bow before Christ.. My word man after what He has done for me it will be a honor to do so. Yet as His child I see doing that and while I am bowed his arms will pull me up into his lap and those arms around me in a tender hug. Yes I see myself as a small child in His presence. I do have a father child love relationship with Him. Nothing out of fear, fear and love can never share the same moment on a persons mind. Does He speak to me.. Of course. He instructs me mostly out of His word, but once in a while an almost audible voice fills my mind and I am told that I am being stubborn. And that I need to open my eyes and see what He has already told me about my problems or a point of faith. You don't have to believe a word of this, but you have no authority to tell me that I am wrong... Jim

Torment not tortured. Sinners and wicked will be tormented for the age or unlimited period until they finally bear righteous fruit. They are facing a spiritual death not a literal death and that is what the second death means. Some will be beaten with fewer stripes while other will be beaten with many stripes which is also figurative. The lake of fire is beneficial not destructive. The carnal nature is what gonna be destroyed permanently but the true you will be preserved spiritually. You will overcome the second death.

Not true. I do not live in fear of God. My salvation is secure in the blood of Christ. I live in fear for the people who reject the offer of forgiveness, or who die and have not heard the free gift of salvation or did not decide. God does not want his chosen people to live in fear. God says in the Word that He will never leave us nor forsake us."Whoever believes in Him is not condemned, but whoever does not believe stands condemned already because he has not believed in the name of God's one and only Son." (John 3:18)

We Christians are not afraid of hell and all it contains, because Jesus died to keep us out of there. I would like to see even people like you saved, but from your rhetoric, I can see I might as well talk to my cat about salvation. I am not judging you, you are condemning yourself.

I don't "attack" or "condemn" anyone. I also don't "bow". I am a Christian and it is not a "cult".
You are seriously misinformed and ignorant.
"A personal relationship can only be had with someone who you can speak with on a personal level. "
That is what YOU think. I KNOW that I have a personal relationship with God. It is not for YOU to tell ME with whom I have a personal relationship.
