When the Apostles created dissension by each trying to determine who was the more loved by Jesus, He told them to love one another as He had loved them and don't worry about who was most loved. The best way to assure a place with Jesus was to love one another. The lesson to us, I think, is that we don't concern ourselves with who has the greater favor of the Lord, but that we love each other and thereby all gain the favor of God.

It means that for some strange reason you think that
A. Someone 'commanding' me is going to influence my actual actions even if they're neither my parent nor my employer.
B. That people can MAKE themselves feel love even if they don't feel it.

In plain English, it means ,"LOve thy neighbor". We are all God's creations and God's children. So we should learn to love and respect each other. Confucius teachings is also applicable here. "Do unto others, as you have others do unto you. "

I think it is great in and out of its religious context but unfortunately alot of people don't respect each other. But I hate myself so what does that mean?

love everyone like he did for us. He gave his life for us. Have you seen that commercial...where someone help one person and that person helps a stranger and that person helps another stranger and so on?

GOD wont,s us to love everyone even those who curse us and who put us down and those who hate us. JESUS loved everyone. and before JESUS died he asked GOD to forgive them couse they did not know what they were doing
